  1. I’m curious whether there were any attempts at negotiations prior to trial. It took the state three trials to get a conviction, which indicates the case is not a slam dunk. But every jury is different. She’s already served about 7 years (2 years in custody until after the second mistrial and 5 years between 2016 and 2021). Manslaughter would be a decent result for both sides here

  2. I don't recall ever seeing a trial with so many side bars / starting late / finishing early before. The jurors must be so fed up already. I cant decide whether the judge is not very knowledgeable or is desperately trying to give the defendant a fair trial. Although, he may just be terrified of the defence attorney 🐂🐶

  3. I love this defense argument. Very sharp, very specific and an interesting constitutional angle. This is a great example of the best part of consequential trial argument and procedure. I’m only 15 minutes in, and I’m pretty sure the judge is not going to buy it but it’s a super effort!

  4. The 4th trial~ I believe this woman should be found innocent after 2 hung juries & one guilty verdict overturned by the Supreme Court. Putting her through a costly 4 th trial is ridiculous. IMO.
The prosecutions case is is very weak with no evidence that Cara did this.
