The family of Maya Kowalski, the subject of Netflix’s “Take Care of Maya,” allege that a report of child abuse from Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital led to Beata Kowalski taking her own life. The Kowalski’s are suing doctors, the Department of Children and Families, and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital for $200 million dollars in connection to Beata’s death. According to court documents, the child abuse case against Beata was pushed forward after Maya’s physician confirmed her condition, complex regional pain syndrome, was not the fault of her parents. During the time Beata was separated from Maya, she took her own life.

  1. I got a rather sketchy feeling about Beata having recorded her visit with Dr Kirkpatrick. Why in the world would she have felt the need to do that, so early in the case? What was she trying to prove, and to whom?

  2. I'm really annoyed with the Attorneys from JHACH, as if someone who is wheelchair bound could jump out from one day to another just because of a Ketamine coma and Booster? Get a grip!! Always the same.. 'After the Ketamine treatment, she was still in a wheelchair, correct?'

  3. Dr. Bewerton is telling the truth that the defense lawyers are not wanting the jurors to hear. When the media flashes to the defense lawyers they know the hospital screwed up! I glad the judge is overruling the defense team objections.

  4. Dr. Smith knowing what CRPS was from Dr. K kind of reminds me of the Titanic captain who knew there were icebergs but still ordered full steam ahead. JHACH absolutely had this coming to them. Dr. Smith was in no way an expert as a pediatrician. She spoke to a Dr. who was and she blatantly disregarded what he had to say. Dr. Smith shouldn't have a license. Period.

  5. This is so sickening in many ways. To see the defense lawyers treating this doctor like a criminal; someone who's dedicated his career to helping unwell people. All in the name of covering the backs of questionable hospital staff and illegitimising the totally lawful decisions a family took to give their child her life back. It truly disgusts me.

  6. I’m confused. Dr. Kirkpatrick is clearly an expert…why didn’t he intervene and school Sally and the other idiots?? With his expertise, couldn’t he have prevented this whole mess? He seems like he cares a ton…why didn’t he persist until they finally “got it”?

  7. I randomly will get INCREDIBLY sensitive to touch on my skin and it'll usually happen in my trunk, my back, or the back of my legs. I don't think it's crps, but i couldn't handle that all the time. It's awful

  8. All these organized crime mofias get away with ruining people's lives. What counts for them is their money……..I PRAY THIS FAMILY WINS!!

  9. Its,really sad that the, defence's only tactic they have is a bait and switch strategy. They try to confuse the facts and trick the whiteness into answering their way. Despicable

  10. PCA not safe because it will fall asleep. It limits dose. If push button and dose not due it will not dispense

  11. It disgusts me that defense really trying to saying not only didn’t do anything wrong but did so amazing she was “healed” look his well she did after.

  12. Well you can't complain that insurance/hospital costs are ridiculous today. You do realize we are the ones funding little Maya's new 200+mill lifestyle through what the hospitals charge us due to scams like this. Remember, 30 mill that was offered wasn't good enough. So here we are.

  13. Literally 7:23:30 I am livid w defense counsel 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ you want this doctor to respond about her interim condition without referencing the records from the interim!

  14. The defense is terrified that Dr. Kirkpatrick’s knowledge and simple explanations of this disease will make an impact on this jury. Trying to interrupt every question and answer. Some defense teams work hard to protect their client against false accusations but this team is trying to shield the hospital from the truth. Despicable!

  15. Medical professional here, 20 years oncology.. This hospital saved this young lady's life. I know it's not the popular opinion. If she had been released to Mom, she would most likely be dead today. Hard wrap one's mind around that, but it happens. Thank God for people who stand their ground, despite popular 'opinion'.

  16. 😮 how eye opening Dr. Bewerton statment he has made about depression, ptsd and chronic pain. So sad praying for Maya and her family! ❤❤❤

  17. I feel so horrible for this family. The medical system is a giant. They mistreated this family in unimaginable ways. I hope they get compensated appropriately for it. However, I can’t help but think how wrong Beata was to kill herself. It hurt her family more than it helped. Imagine if she were here. They’d have a much easier time in court and the kids would have their mother, and Jack would have his wife.

  18. Am I missing something w/regard to Anderson? Is he not familiar enough w/case, nervous, disorganized? I hope 2not sound judgemental bc it’s not my intention; I’m just concerned for the Kowalski’s.

  19. I am just loving doctor Kirkpatrick. No BS kind of doc who really tries to not let the defense get over on him. He really seems to care for the research and treatment of children and adults with CRPS
