The family of Maya Kowalski, the subject of Netflix’s “Take Care of Maya,” allege that a report of child abuse from Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital led to Beata Kowalski taking her own life. The Kowalski’s are suing doctors, the Department of Children and Families, and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital for $200 million dollars in connection to Beata’s death. According to court documents, the child abuse case against Beata was pushed forward after Maya’s physician confirmed her condition, complex regional pain syndrome, was not the fault of her parents. During the time Beata was separated from Maya, she took her own life.

Sorry, but the father threw his wife under the bus to protect his own A because the cop threatened him. He's a coward and part of the reason things got worse and she ended up where she did. Awful. regardless of whether there is/was CRPS, MBP, or even a stomach ache, this Hospital and its staff did not treat for what they were billing. 5 hours of CBT, 8 hours of PT, and walking her to the recreational room about 12 times in a 97 day period, is NOT TREATING the patient. Now lets talk about the point of view of a 10 year old. She is lied to about a rewards program( per testimony of Dr.Who told her about it), she was taken away from her home, her family , her friends her schooling, she had an obsessive social worker lurking around. She was surveilled and left to sit in her own bed and " use the restroom" on herself, because they wanted to prove themselves right,( instead of believing the patient). She is stripped down, and has photos taken of her in her underclothes( if we did this to our children we would be arrested and every one of you reading this know it is true!)…Then she goes to court one more time, the judge denies allowing her to see her mother, and two days later she is motherless!
How many adults would not be severely depressed after this type of treatment? The trauma she experienced could have been easily prevented! It is called : Communication!

Did anyone else catch that with the question about the police lady when she arrived at the hospital? Mr Andersen just asked her about Jack and Maya standing there or nearby when the police lady and Mrs. Bedy were getting off the elevator. How is that possible that Maya was standing? I thought she couldn't stand on her own? Unbelievable!
Mr. Anderson it is very clear to me the mother was doctor shopping in order to get what she wanted. If the mother is a nurse why would she bring her child to a hospital why not take her child back to the quacks she shopped around and found that agreed to take her on as a patient?!!! This witness didn’t help defense much. I agree may not be CRPS but he went on to say not conversion or factitious disorder. He is very knowledgeable saying it’s real even if has psychological component.

The defense attorneys talk until they get their way. The terminally ill, dillatin conversation is a prime example. Although, the judge claims he does not side with the last lawyer who speaks, this is clearly how he does side. Defense talks circles till they get their way.
