Jacob Bishop, an Army veteran and member of the National Guard, was found dead by his mother inside his home in 2019. At the time, he and his wife, Amanda Bishop, were going through a contentious custody battle. This week, the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office arrested Amanda Bishop, as well as her distant cousin, Eric Byrd, for murder. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber spoke with retired police commander Mike King about this years-long investigation.

Jacob was one of my dear friends! We dated years ago (middle school) and then became great friends. He is truly missed! He loved life and could get you to laugh till ya almost peed yourself! Amanda and her Momma have always been INSANE and bullies! We all grew up in a small town so everyone knows each other. Eric has his pilots license but he has 4 DUI’S, druggie and I pray he doesn’t get out but his Mom and Stepdad are doctors and Amanda’s already out on bond. By the way.. the woman in the pictures with Jacob isn’t the woman who killed him! She was his girlfriend! But the woman in the pictures ALONE is Amanda the killer.

The wife alone couldn't do it as far as tying him up. Reason I say this is because imagine yourself your wife or boyfriend out of nowhere pulling a gum amd saying I'm Tying you up. You would be like yeah okay sure. Most wouldn't believe in what was going on and would fight and argue. So the man did it and she helped. I'm sure her and husband was in house and in the night she let her cousin in and the plan prolly was act like you are robbing the house and she prolly acted as well. Meaning her and her husband prolly agreed and she acted scared so the husband seem her scared and did what he waa told so she wouldn't get hurt then as soon as they tied him up she wasnt and thats the end. Now that's what I think that happen
They didn't run because they thought they won and got away with it. Why run and make self look guilty if detectives and cops never hinted towards you being a suspect or them saying we have proof. You run then you look guilty

Great news, but strange it took 5 years to arrest someone in a bitter custody battle with him. I wonder what finally triggered it that took so long.
Who the kids with hes parents ir hers because they should have a law on who ever kills a parent tge grandparents of the victim should have custody like the markel ex wife family's killed Dan she hasn't been arrested but she had alot to do with it wendy adelson shoukd be arrested next shannon also ex who killed her ex for custody finally in jail

I am sure the $250,000 SGLI didn’t contribute to his wife killing him. She probably received and spent the insurance money by now. Murder is the new divorce.
