What kind of monsters adopt children and treat them so savagely, inhumanely and deadly? The surviving children lived through hell. I can only pray they are getting the help and love they so badly need. I can only imagine how many others are living those same kind of horrific lives in 2023. God’s blessings to bio mom and children going forward. May the abusers and killers pay dearly. I’d be the nosy neighbor asking questions indeed
Are we supposed to feel bad for this drug addict mother. She says she went down the wrong path after her kids were takin away, yet the kids were takin away because she was already going down the wrong path. She hasn't changed she making excuses and passing the buck. This was all her falt
Priscilla, lets be honest, people who are addicted don’t give clean UAs just like that and they neglect their kids at many levels. 1000%. CPS did the right thing by removing them from you. But they made a horrible decision picking that couple.
Let’s not minimize. The whole thing is very unfortunate, but lets not sugar coat anything.
I am so sorry all these happened because I know you still love your kids and hurt for what happened.

I know this podcast episode is from three years ago, but I'm hoping my comment will still be read here in March 2023. I'd just like to say that Louis is one of my favorite guests on TCD. He's such a gentlemen, and a truly kind, intelligent person. However, I would urgently like to request that the producer of your podcast would please turn up Louis's microphone. He has such a soft voice that I struggle to hear his comments. In contrast, Ana has a very strong, clear voice, so if I turn up MY volume to hear Louis, then Ana sounds as if she's shouting. I'm so sorry to be complaining, but I would really appreciate it if you will turn Louis's volume up. Thank you! Love your show!

I wish that I could do something to make them accountable for their actions and help other families.
My heart goes out to the mother!!! As a parent that has had to deal with dfs and their lies and cruelty. My children were removed twice from me. Both times for things that I had not done to my children. My children were loved and taken care of. The first time my children were taken, my special needs child was abused..my middle child was physically and sexually abused by one than one foster parents and other children and nothing was done to the perpetrator. The second time they were taken my youngest 2 were hospitalized 3 days after taken from me because of the foster family neglect almost costing one of their lives. Then the older 3 are put in a home together with horrible foster parents. The foster father sexually abused all three of them over and over. Made they drink vinegar for punishment until they start peeing blood! He physically abused them to the point he almost killed my son!!! He never serve anytime for his actions!!!! He beat a special need child, there were bruises all over his body, a black and blue eye, burn marks around his neck, and he had his head held under water while the other children had to watch. This was all substantied by dfs! Nothing happened to him. The next home a another child molested him and I lost my parental rights on this child because of it!!!! I lost my child because of their bad decisions and abuse at their hand! Then my child was told that I was his abuser and perpetrator when I was not!!! Dfs needs to be stopped. How many innocent children have to die because of their bad decisions. Have many families have to be destroyed. I too did everything that dfs asked me but it didn't matter in the end.
CPS or DCF whatever they are called in that state need to be held accountable. Justice needs to be had. This is every parents worst nightmare. 😢 what a horrible world we live in.

They should've let the children in the care of the biological mother if the children wouldn't end up abused! AND DEAD! CRAY-CRAY!
Losing her rights should be "invalid" she trusted these people….I'd be suing….this is heartless….but it's why we have children and don't expect others to do it….although I realize there are circumstances that warrant help….

The poor children on the cruise ship with their family. They are the father beats their mom to death. Destroying their lives. How horrible. My condolences.

This should never have happened to any child. Unfortunately DCFS is not always providing a safer option. So sad this happened. Kinda confused tho… So a week of hotel cost is less than paying electric bill? 🤔 They we're permanently removed due to electric bills.
They give parents a lot of options to get better, rehab programs. Part of recovery is owning your mistakes and not putting the responsibilities of our actions onto others. Someone def dropped the ball. These kids should have been safe in dcfs but they should have been with parents who put their kids ahead of themselves. I truly get how addiction can become so powerful that even one's kids aren't as important as the drug however own that. Don't blame the electric bill or that dcfs was against you. They can't tell someone in a closed adoption situation. If it got to that point, we are talking years of foster care that parents could have turned it around. Im sorry this happened. It's terrible and should be a call to all who struggle with addiction to get help and put their kids ahead of their disease. So so so terribly sad.

This is so sad!!! Infuriating! IT JUST SEEMS LIKE NOBODY WANTS TO DO THEIR JOB. CPS is an oxymoron! THEY'RE SO MESSED UP AND IT CONSTANTLY HAPPENS!

This is ridiculous. Priscilla you need to get your babies back. I don’t know how to make that happen but if you are reading this please PLEASE call back , get on any news program that will listen to you, get a million Facebook pages and groups going, let the world know that you need support. Get a go fund me going to raise money for a lawyer and a home so you can get your children home. If you are not able to take your children back right now that’s ok. Just be strong,be honest and if that means someone in your family takes your children so be it. Because your babies deserve better and they need help and counseling and they need to know that you love them. And I sincerely hope that whatever needs to happen, happens. I can’t say enough. Hold your head up and I will be looking for your story and I will do whatever I can to help you.

Yikes. It’s kinda crappy to tell someone you want them to leave the cruise ship at the next port, and that you want a divorce like that but HOLY MOLY. Talk about an overreaction.
This poor mother 💔 drugs/addition doesn’t automatically make you a bad parent, her kids weren’t beaten or starving to death like they became with the foster parents. I hope she gets her kids back and my deepest condolences 💐 for little girl she lost.
If the mom is in a better place in her life , then i see no issues with her having her right backs?! She didn't kill her kid!!
