Wrongful Conviction: Detroit’s Desmond Ricks case – Everything Law and Order Blog

“You’re going to prison for 30 years for something you didn’t do, and you’ve got to figure out how you’re going to deal with it. People say ‘Light at the end of the tunnel.’ There was no tunnel. It’s all dark. There was no tunnel. There was no nothing.” UPDATES: http://bit.ly/2Xgk45n

  1. I've watched alot of true crime,it amazes me how wrong the police are and how often,This one absolutely takes the piss.they should find the cops that did this, put them in prison, and then sell there homes and everything they own, pay this innocent man out of there finances, and they should serve not a day less then 25 years

  2. The male lawyer is correct this wasn’t a “mistake” or botched/contamination crime scene. This was a set up conspiracy intentional they seen another black man and thought no one would even care🤔 well guess what they were wrong

  3. He only then realized that this was a drug deal! Yeah ok. Y am I only hearing about the gun as evidence? I'm thinking so that if they can prove the bullets did not in fact come from that gun that would mean he didn't do it, after all that apparently is the ONLY evidence I'm presented with watching this program. Ok so I'm done watching. So even if n that's still a big if, even if the cops switched bullets and it wasn't his mom's gun that was used is it not possible that he simply used a different .38 n tossed it? Then when the police got the mom's .38 realized this wasn't the gun but knew he did it anyways so they switched the bullets? Now because they switched the bullets all the defense has to do is prove those weren't the bullets and Desmond goes free? What in saying is if indeed the cops switched the bullets, that DOESNT mean he didn't do it! And after 20 years the courts just said fuck it let him go. Even if he is guilty he served 20 years. So they seemed to have prove the bullets weren't the same. Ok so all that needed to happen for this case is him doing one simple thing! One thing could easily be true and this would all make sense. IF HE USED A DIFFERENT .38 N GOT RID OF IT. Y couldn't that be possible? Cause that's all it would take. It %100 true that he's sitting at home n we ask him how did you get that case overturned? It's possible for him to say" I used a different .38 and dumped it n they never found it" n just got lucky the cops tried to frame me actually worked in my favor 20 years later.

  4. Best "pal" huh? Wow this show is really trying to stack on the bullshit! Y didn't they just say, his drug dealing homie t-dog? Cuz they're trying to paint a narrative here. Lol!! Make some runs? Sounds like some drug deals to me. He's his best pal n Desmond doesn't know what time it is huh? He didn't know his best friend was a drug dealer huh? He didn't know he was going to deal drugs huh? All bullshit!

  5. You know how they said he’s entitled to 1.2 million? They tried to rip him off! They gave him 1 million and he had to go to court for the other 200k+ 🤯 those maggots. He obviously got the extra money but damn! They ruined his whole life and they want to rip him off too?! He deserved way more than 1.2 mil 💯😡

  6. I sympathize with him. When i was 17, took a friend to what I thought was his home to go back and pick up some stuff he left for school. Found out later I took him to a drug deal.

Things got aggressive, but liluckily made it out there in one piece. Never talked to dude again. He's in been in and out of jail ever since.

People are sitting in jail right now who didn't even do anything. Because of wrong place, wrong place.

  7. 50 thousand a year is a joke at least 200 thousand a year and 500 thousand for every family member that died while he was in prison. This has to be one of my biggest fears and why you should never talk to the cops even if you're trying to help. I wonder what the % is of innocent people in prison. Actually no I don't I probably won't be able to sleep at night if I knew. Imagine losing your wallet not only do you lose all your money but you're looking at 25 years in prison

  8. "Questions turned into 25yrs" that is terrifying!
Also the comment he made about his grandkids coming into his room, eating from the snack bag and watching cartoons is such a GRANDPA thing..i love that!💗 so glad hes free
