North Dakota lawmaker Nico Rios was arrested for a DUI after he allegedly refused to comply with officers. Rios was also caught on body camera footage spewing racist and homophobic slurs to the officers in charge. “You don’t know who the f**k I am,” Rios can be heard questioning to officers before handing authorities his business card. The incident occurred last month, and Rios pleaded guilty to drunken driving on Jan. 8.

As a result of his guilty plea, Rios was sentenced to nearly a year of unsupervised probation and ordered to pay $1,000. The sentence also includes a 10-day suspended jail sentence, a mandatory evaluation, and a victim impact panel. Additionally, Rios must pay $50 for an open container violation. A misdemeanor charge of refusing a chemical test was dismissed. Representative Rios’ driving privileges will be suspended automatically for 91 days.
