Amazon is intensifying the anti-union campaign at its Bessemer, Alabama, plant, where workers are currently voting to unionize. On Feb. 20, Amazon workers and their allies rallied in cities across the country to demand Amazon halt its anti-union tactics and improve workplace conditions.

Current and former Amazon employees who attended the rally in Baltimore County, Maryland, told The Real News that Amazon has not followed through on promises to protect worker safety. Activists say a union victory in Alabama could be a boost for labor organizing across the country and would be a significant defeat for one of the world’s most powerful corporations.

  1. The government should already be regulating the industry and ensuring the employees are being paid a fair wage… especially when the products are all monopolized & price gouged..
How can they not pay their employees well, when for a $7 cable they are charging $35? 5x markup and they still can't pay fair wages.. pathetic…
Kind of funny that Wal*Mart is feeling the very same effects it once imposed on small businesses… now they are being shut down to worldwide mega robot warehouses of amazon +
Do these rob-idiots not realize that for people to buy their products they need jobs? Are the robots going to buy the latest pair of Nike Air Jordans? What are you expecting??
To be the man who sold the world?

  2. Aren't unions as corrupt as politics and union leaders as politicians? I'm not saying Walmart is right but, are unions the answer?

  3. Didn't Republicans criticize AOC over the cancellation Amazons NYC corporate headquarters?

  4. The US is turning into a third world country not from immigration but from corporate america.

  5. History repeats itself, Workers rallied against Henry Ford, he hired Pinkerton security, 2020 workers rallied against Amazon they then hired Pinkerton security to micro manage employees inside…. facts 💯

  6. I'm not one to focus on this sort of thing, but I live near Bessemer and have friends at the plant. How the hell did you go to Bessemer, AL and only find white people to interview/use as B reel?

  7. GOOD!
This will be the one catalyst that will finally force mass machine automation and A.I. in the workplace.
    Truth be told…
These horrible, inhumane, warehouse jobs really should be phased out in favor of cheaper, more efficient machine labor.
No more human beings toiling and killing themselves in these terrible conditions.
We as a society will be better off in the long term.

  8. I proudly stand with these Amazon workers and their families as they fight for a UNION 👍✌️❤️🙏

  9. YOUNAZITUBE DELETES DIRECT LINKS NOW.
Just trying commenting a link to the southern workers assembly donate page.

  10. They better keep working while they can and train for a different career in their free time. Amazon is gonna automate before the decade is done. They have enough money to fight this for 30 years and replace every job but maintenance with a robot.

  11. Everybody knows, the fight is fixed, the poor stay poor and the rich get rich…that’s how it goes, everybody knows. – Leonard Cohen

  12. This was the best reporting. I believe the workers are justified!
