As we’ve covered previously on Rattling the Bars, prisons in the US have been a major source of COVID-19 infections throughout the pandemic, and experts have suggested that the reality is even worse than the limited data have shown. Now, as the more contagious Delta variant causes another surge in cases in prisons around the country, certain states have stopped sharing infection statistics with the public, and there is less transparency and oversight than ever before.

In this episode of Rattling the Bars, TRNN Executive Producer Eddie Conway speaks with professors Kathryn M. Nowotny and Zinzi Bailey of the COVID Prison Project about the concerning reality that we simply don’t have good information about COVID-19 infections and deaths connected to the prison system. Kathryn M. Nowotny is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Miami and is a co-lead investigator and
co-founder of the COVID Prison Project; Zinzi Bailey is a research
assistant professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine
and project investigator for the COVID Prison Project.

  1. PCR testing was close to 100% false positives.. 1st wave of deaths was Remdesivir and ventilators.. Now people are dying from clotting and heart attacks after jab.. Stop the rollout..

  2. The philosophy of the rich and the poor is this: "the rich invest their money and spend what is left. The poor spend their money and invest what is left".

  3. "OSHA.. prisoners are still considered slaves."
By this definition miners and anyone that works for a state government as they are also not covered by OSHA are also slaves?

I am on the Left on most issues… but the crazy Left as shown in this video. :/

  4. A nurse at the local county jail recently said, "We are not letting anyone out early because of the virus." ??? Still taking them into a crowded situation but not letting anyone leave
    early ?

  5. My inmate that is in prison has had covid 3 times. Each time he was very sick but lived through it. He comes home soon. The prisons are awful.
