  1. Definitely seems like a complicated and unwelcome mess … of political affairs. It isn't something new in this world, but more is not better, it isn't improvement.

  2. NATO has always co-operated with the right wing fascists in Europe: in Italy, France and Germany they allied with the fascists and old aristocrats to fight socialists. The "terrorist groups" of past decades, like the Red Brigades, were part of NATO-operation to demonize socialists. And in fact it happened many other countries in Europe, and Turkey. The far right was NATO's natural ally in the Ukraine coup: can be armed, bribed and are fanatically anti-Russian racists.

  3. There are a couple of important things the interviewee forgot to mention. The first is that Zelinsky, who's a very gifted comedian that reminds me a lot of the young Dudley Moore, is the star in a show in Kolomoisky's TV channel and for that reason many suspect that he's in Kolomoisky's pocket. I'm no sure if that's the case, but evidently Kolomoisky, who's not just a businessman but also a gangster (like all Ukrainian oligarchs, I must add), approves of his candidacy, otherwise he would have cancelled the show long ago; and he approves of it as a way to ruin Poroshenko, to whom he accuses of stealing a bank from him. The "stealing", of course, part of the massive plundering that followed the eruption of the war in Donbass and in which all oligarchs took part, including both Poroshenko and Kolomoisky.
Tymoshenko is not only a right wing populist, but also a turncoat. After Crimea she said she'd gladly nuke all Russians and when she was confronted with that declaration she said she only referred to the Ukrainian Russians. But when she was president she signed a gas deal with Russia that was rather perjudicial for Ukrainian interests but benefited her own businesses.
That is to say, all of them except Zelinsky are demonstrably corrupt. Poroshenko being probably the most corrupt of all, but that might only be because he's the one who's had the chance to steal more thanks to the war.
Finally, at the end of the interview Prof. Amar said that the neo-nazi batallions, one of which is financed by Kolomisky, didn't control the Maidan revolution but managed to make it work in their benefit, but that's only half of the truth because actually the Maidan protests ended with an agreement signed by Yanukovich and the opposition leaders which involved a shared government and anticipated elections in 6 months. That was the vast majority of those protesting wanted, and Merkel and Hollande were the guarantors of that agreement in the name of the EU. Less than 24 hours later the neo-nazi paramilitaries broke into the main government buildings and took power by force, throwing the agreement to the trash bin. The EU didn't stand with the agreement, neither the opposition and that's how the war began because since then the neo-nazi paramilitaries have controlled the political scene and no one with aspirations of power can go directly against their interests.
