After spending 19 months in jail on a 12-year prison sentence, Brazil’s Supreme Court ruled that Lula had to be freed until his appeals are exhausted. Supporters greeted him enthusiastically and Lula promised to fight the unjust case against him and for social justice in Brazil.

  1. I thought the government would just ignore the evidence that came out with the Intercept article (Well done Glenn Greenwald, well done). But it made enough impact, the judge showed some spine as well. – I wonder if Jimmy Dore is going to change his views on the "Carwash" anti-corruption group. (Not to hate on Jimmy – but that he got wrong).

  2. perfect reporting, showing, that this release from prison is accompanied by a grass roots movement standing next to lula, for every day he has been in prison. seeing him free warms the heart of every left leaning person world wide. good luck and thank you to lula, good luck and thank you to glenn greenwald, and most of all good luck and thank you to the people of brazil.

  3. Go LULA!!! Finally, Brazil waking up! Impeach and imprison Bolsonaro, Moro and all the exposed crooks and nazi criminals. Viva Brazil libre!

  4. My man Lula is about to put the B back into the BRICS alliance! 👍🙂😄😄😍
This reminds me of when Jean Bertrand Aristide was finally allowed by the USA and France to triumphantly return to Haiti. Viva Lula! Viva Brazil!🇧🇷

  5. I believe this is a plan from the right wing. They did not want to kill him in jail but out of jail. They will send someone to kill him or make it look like an accidental killing bu a car accident, falling, shot by mistake etc. LULA BE AND HIS SUPPORTERS MUST BE CAREFUL AND THEY ALWAYS MUST BE AROUND HIM TO PROTECT HIM.

  6. …and that, my friends, is why actual journalism is so important, and that is why the enemies of freedom are so hell-bent on destroying it.
Glenn Greenwald, your work has historical significance, bravo.

  7. Lula is literally Brazil's FDR, when the neocons / neolib boom squad couldn't win fairly, they had to imprison him, then project a psychopath to president. Standard baby boom brain protocol. The western hemisphere big boomers have gone full psychopath, and that includes many EU countries, Canada, Japan, and others, BIG BOOMIN!

Interesting how the most socialized generation in global history (US boomers) want to murder everyone else (even US youth). Pscyhopaths / sociopaths / narcissistic big boomin brain. They just can't stop big boomin….

  8. So now what, the ones who imprison Lula based on lies will not be persecuted.? Will the peoples not demand that this liars will be persecuted .it should not matters if the ones who put in prison are in power. Demand jail for this animals

  9. Well, he did a lot for his country but he blundered a lot more. In fact, Bolsonaro and the fact that the country regressed at least 20 years since he left the presidency are direct results of his blunders.
