  1. Americans are being lied to. Unfortunately this is because there's no conflict of interest between their politians and businesses. Pharmaceuticals can literally pay (lobby) a politician to support them. So those politicians then simply lie and use propaganda to try and convince their voters that free healthcare is somehow a terrible thing, incorrectly using words like "socialism" to scare people.

  2. Tax payers pay for the nhs so when you need it you can get it at no cost at that time. Americans by some poles want a single payer system why doesn't the US government set up its own health insurance in competition with other insurance companies and let the people choose.

  3. Please please stop saying its free ,its not, its free at point of delivery.its paid for through tax and national insurance taken from wages.

  4. Experiment? How’s that experiment with maybe reaching the moon someday? Oh you did? Well our experiment happens two decades before that and the results are conclusive, it works, nobody from any political party will dismantle the nhs even the sly privatisation of it by the conservatives is met with fierce opposition and if they even dare make there desire public they know they wouldn’t win any election

  5. The National Health Service is FREE at the point of delivery, it is not FREE as it is paid for upfront via contributions from National Insurance (a tax scheme similar to the US Social Security). The NHS is funded for by a Democratic Government using the money that it has received through taxation. The Government of The United Kingdom of Greater Briton is not a socialist government it is a true Democracy where the will of the majority (of voting citizens) is acted upon. The UK is not now, nor has ever been a socialist government, therefore no aspect of a government funded health care system controlled by this type of government can be considered socialist.

The US do not like the idea of having a healthcare system like the UK's NHS as it would cripple the health insurance and private healthcare industries that spend millions of dollars a year lobbying (bribing) the US government and media, so that they release information that benefits industry (propaganda). So the general public like the good mindless worker drones that they are will believe all the lies and misinformation that they are being fed, so healthcare which is FREE at the Point of Delivery, yet funded by the taxes which the Citizens pay is a bad thing.

As in the US you have to pay Social Security, would it really be Socialized Medicine to use that money to pay for healthcare so that when you have to use your healthcare providers you are not hit with a bill as you have already paid for it out of your Social Security payments. That is exactly what happens in the UK except we call our Social Security contributions National Insurance contributions.

The media and those involved in US politics really need to do their research before opening up their mouths and saying stupid things that are so far from being the truth it is almost laughable. However things in the US will not change while its government are publicly taking bribes and allowing the media to spout pro-industry propaganda. The US propaganda machine is worse than Russia, China and North Korea combined.

  6. I'll never understand why americans who wanto to change their healthcare system look to the UK. They have a better system than US but is far away from the real good healthcare systems in Europe (Spain, France, Italy, Austria, etc.).

  7. Speaking as a Brit, i can say without any doubt whatsoever that. i would in no way want an American style health care. If i get run over or whatever. i do not pay a single penny at any time or at any point for anything from the hospital treatment. should i require a prescription, then those are almost £10 . The amount of tax that we pay that goes towards our wonderful NHS is nominal, if you are on low wages then you don't pay any taxes at all anyway. and still get all the same NHS treatment, but you don't have to pay for any prescriptions. We do have private care if you so wish but of course that, you have to pay for yourself and often end up in the same NHS hospital and treated by the same NHS doctor making a fast buck, as you would call it. this is how people with money can get seen faster than an NHS patient. cue hopping, this only applies to none emergency issues, all emergencies are treated as however life threatening the issue is at the time. You folks should have it too, it would probably save you some money!

  8. It's deeply regrettable that the phrase 'socialised medicine' and its offshoots have been introduced, with the inference of it being akin to communism. I think also that the word, 'taxation' frightens many people in the US, implying it would be a huge cut in their earnings. This is not the case in the UK, where the amount is quite small and people hardly glance at the commitment they are making. It's true that the NHS is in something of a parlous state these days (2021) and it may mean a small rise in taxation, with which I think most people would be compliant. Covid-19 and its present variant have, of course, placed an immense burden on the NHS – how the present government deals with that is yet to be determined. Robert, UK.

  9. right lets get this straight…if you dont have a penny in youre pocket and regardless of where youre from…not one person who is involved with british health care will NOT let you down..they are angels..its not perfect but they got youre back…pride doesnt quite cover it…

  10. 70+ years and it's an experiment?? We have so much devision in the UK at the moment yet I'm confident the only thing that would unite us would be trying to I'm pose an American style system. American government and media should fix their own health care (or maybe just introduce one) before they force their views on other states

  11. The NHS is great. The only thing wrong with it is underfunding particularly under the Tories who would like to move towards an insurance system as they see huge profits in it for their millionaire buddies. Never trust the Tories they have more faces than the town hall clock and all of them are ugly.

  12. Dr Bob Gill is a typical Leftie exaggerating the issues in the NHS for his party political bias. In London almost everyone is Labour / Liberal so they play NHS as a political pawn against the Conservatives. You will notice the other Doctor never mentions politics.
To set this man's dishonesty in context the level of privatisation is between 5% and 22% and it was increased more by Labour than the Tories. However people like Dr Gill are classed as 'private suppliers' as their GP Practices are all private partnerships to the NHS. Without including them private suppliers are about 5%.
And further to that the NHS has been getting the highest level of funding for decades with 40 new hospitals being built. It clearly works as we managed the COVID crisis care needs well and even built 7 temporary hospitals as standby.
No one in the UK would EVER want the NHS changed other than made more efficient at a management level.

  13. If you look back you find the same arguments regarding the NHS since day one. The bottom line is the NHS is the absolute best. Never having to worry about getting the care you need is a godsend and I would think every government has a duty to care for its people.

  14. NHS THE BEST THING EVER, AMERICA GET IT DONE YOU WONT REGRET IT, YOU WILL IF YOU KEEP SPENDING ON BOMBS SND BULLETS, SENDING YOUNG PEOPLE TO THEIR DEATHS FOR WHAT ? CHINA AINT GONNA INVADE YOU OR ANYONE, IN CASE YOUR BKIBD THEY ARE MAKIBG AND SELLING STUFF , YOY KNOW TGE VERY THING USA ASKED OF THEM TO STOP FULL BLOODED COMMUNISM, MILLIONS OF CHINESE ARE A LOT FREE NIW AND MILLIONS TRAVEL THE WORLD. AINT PERFECT BUT STILL WORK IN PRIGRESS. USA IS NOW THE BIGGEST WARMONGER JUST STOP IT

  15. I spend a lot of time watching U TUBE, watched as your politicians lied and gave you false information, just like trump, I I I am English when I was younger I used to ride motorcycles, some say a little to fast, I had several accidents involving cars,5 in total which resulted in ambulance rides to hospital, 3 were mainly cuts and bruises with a few stiches then i was on my way, the other 2 resulted in a stay, 1 for 3 days took the skin and flesh the back of my right hand had concussion a few grazes, the other was ahead on with a car resulting in concussion again and torn muscles in my back, took 5 months to get back to normal. ALL THESE AMULANCE RIDES, A MY STAY'S IN HOSPITAL,STITCHES, AND ALLTHE TREATMENT I HAD COST ME £000.

  16. Americans keep saying "Socialism" is BAD! But your Police are free,so are is your Fire Department, so are your schools, and your Libraries ETC ETC!! 😱

  17. The journalist mentioned in this post, Sally Pipes works for PRI, a rightwing 'think tank' with a vested interest in running down institutes like the NHS. They push free-markets and supply-side economics, to them it is ALL about profits and not about people, they have to lie about NHS and other state run healthcare systems.

  18. We won't have the NHS if the tories stay in, i cannot believe it, imagine being in the working and lower class and voting in a government that does everything in its power to further take from you and shove you into the dirt and then tells you its your disabled neighbours fault i mean you fucking sfupid can you be

  19. Go fund me is going nuts in the USA because they can’t get cover .
Find anyone in the UK who needs funding for health care .
I ve had a course of Lucentis eye injections , laser treatment and a cataract operation . My Copays ? Zero .
Look online and check what even a well insured persons copays would be you will be horrified unless you live in the USA of course

  20. I've literally been seen by doctors within hours for non urgent things in one of the countries worst hospitals (Hillingdon hospital). They're chatting absolute rubbish
