There are important differences between Republicans and Democrats, but there also are many areas where the differences are more cosmetic than real, especially in the area of foreign policy and militarism. Will progressive successes in the midterms push the party as a whole more to the left? 35 thoughts on “Can Progressives Make the Democratic Party End its Collaboration with Republicans?”
  1. An important difference ; Democrat means KKK , Slavery , opposition to the black vote , the Boul'e Society crab barrel system , the Down Low Club . That is their history . THeir new KKK is Que Que Que , because they are failing so bad they need to import people to vote for them .

  2. Progressive is an Exclusive group . They are Progressive , Superior , and their positions are right , correct , Politically Correct of course . Political Correctness is ever changing , depending on who needs to be shut up , but they conform . And those not Progressive , are therefore Inferior , Deplorable , even Irredeemable . THe No 1 Enemy of these people  , and of the Left  , is the Working Class . Real news is too stupid to understand this ?

  3. The answer is: not without independent review of ballots. Right now we have results of election dictated down to us by the establishment so these major "wins" for oligarchs that call themselves democrats or republicans will not end so long as that is the case.

  4. Dem Congress needs to stop the voter surpression tricks that purge hundreds of thousands. Replace voting machines that do NOT have a paper print out BEFORE 2020. There were 10 million more Dem votes and Repub votes this passed election. There were 3 million more in 2016 and they still lose.

  5. No, they cannot convert the dems. We need an entirely new party. A complete and terminal by-pass of these utterly corrupt parties. Then, half the rest of the country will vote.

  6. Poor conversation. Frank as usual laughs at his own jokes. I don't believe for a minute he wouldn't become a corporate democrat overnight if it suited him. Paul Jay was the only person hitting the issues on the head although it gets a little jaded everytime he keeps referring to the 'elites'. I wish they had someone line nomiki konst or the Indian-origin lady (forget her name) from Seattle who fought for and won the fight for raising the minimum wage.

  7. It's interesting to note that the corporate Dems had to coordinate attacks against independent media with Facebook, Twitter and Youtube taking down over 800 independent media channels two weeks prior to elections. And this is the best they could…

  8. You guys have to push, push, push and organize, organize, organize! There are 2 number 1 priorities: get rid of the nukes and do everything possible to slow down climate change! Or it will be: "END OF STORY!"

  9. A big part of the problem is that democrats in places like California, New York, Western Washington will not accept that Clinton and Obama were damaging to the middle class. Please don't confuse that statement as giving support to the Republicans, because I'm not. The problem is that the democrats in the most influential states view Republicans as bad and Democrats as good. The thought that democrats are also bad is non accepted in California.

I showed a bartender this week the Gini index being at the highest point in America as of 2016 (the end of Obama). He literally could not accept that inequality grew that much under democrat control. Again, don't take my statement as being supportive of Republicans and Trump.

  10. Both political parties are collaborating with corporations & oligarchs that provide their funding. Picking one party over the other is a game for fools game. It's time to bring out pitch forks, torches and guillotines.

  11. This is the left: tedious, boring, paranoid, morally and ethically bankrupt. The obsession with fascism and climate catastrophe is psychotic and absurd. Wake up people! It's the left who are the authoritarians with a lust for absolute power by any means necessary.

  12. Paul Jay is totally on point. It's 1929 and fascism is on the rise again globally due to capitalism working too well at its goal.. leaving us with gilded nobles, their monopolies, and peasants living in the extracted ruin. It's not that 50% of America missed that lesson in class – it's that the class was designed by the tycoons of the last cycle to train workers.. not citizens.

  13. Lol Love it when he asked Paul Jay for your viewers who ware Bilderberg. I am telling you we are going to have a 1930s wall street crash and with the rise of china US elites will get desperate and try start a pre-emptive attack on Russia. If it isn't sanders as president in 2020 as the dem nominee the corporate Rats will pave the red carpet out for Trumps re-election and Mike pences election after Trump.

  14. There seems to be a great difference between the party and the individual Democrat. The party apparatus seems to be Republican. We have a fake President! It really needs to be illegal for ALL politicians to lie in political ads and debates. I don't understand how it's not considered fraud. The wealthy bought our government and when we the people take it back we must demand their punishment. Trump: "We have more Money than Anybody else By Far." Mitch McConnell: "We're Broke and we need to Cut Social Security and Medicare Benefits.". Drump must take responsibility for his overheated hate speech. He encourages violence openly, worships cruel and ruthless dictators, and makes obvious whom he wants in his country.

  15. It's possible but unlikely when considering their past. I think they are oblivious beyond reason. If they observed the Gallup polls going back years, if they realized Bernie's popularity they should know the democratic party would win overwhelmingly if their policies benefit the voters instead of the corporations, the rich and the military-industrial complex.

  16. I think the last two elections don’t point to that being likely. The Democrats running for Senste tripled down on the Third Way

  17. I guess the lack of a real blue wave can be summed up by the advertised legislative agenda of the Democrats in the leadup to the midterm elections held today! If I remember correctly I think the policy agenda consisted of:

    1.
    2.
    3.
    4.
    5.

Yeah, I think that's about it.
Who can blame Americans for not coming out in droves to support such a bold policy platform?
    Inspiring stuff.

  18. Paul Jay brings in fascism and climate nonsense. Brushes by AI and falls right back into virtue signaling buzzwords. He can't define bildaberg he can't say x is evil and on and on…. these basic basic ideas have no solid meaning and it is this that will FOREVER dilute the vote from the Left…. we should never stop calling them evil but I don't believe in evil I just want to call them evil even though I don't believe they n evil…. what???
