Canadian Inquiry Demands Justice for Genocide of Indigenous Women and Girls – Everything Law and Order Blog

Dr. Pamela Palmater of Ryerson University says PM Justin Trudeau had an opportunity to take the lead on the recommendations of the inquiry, but he didn’t. She has no confidence that the political will exists to end the genocide against Indigenous women and girls.

  1. I'm hoping that the generational traumas of the survivours of the 100 million mostly white folks that were wiped off the face of the earth in Europe circa 1916 to 1945 will soon be compensated.

  2. We did the same to The Marshall Islands .
Disregaurd for any human life is disgusting . Testing the Effects of Radiation for generations with horrifying results.

  3. Firstly it is a tragedy that so many Indigenous women have been murdered or gone missing. But about 70% of the Indigenous woman murdered were murdered by Indigenous men. Some dispute that number but the RCMP has confirmed that number. Even if the number is lower why do so many Indigenous men murder, beat, rape indigenous woman? Does alcohol, drugs play a part in these cases? Is poverty the main reason? I fail to understand how Indigenous people murdering other Indigenous people is genocide. Murder is a crime, punishable by long prison terms. The lady that wants to link residential schools to genocide wants to blame everything on the previous governments mishandling of how indigenous peoples were treated. Yes, some of the people that ran or worked in those schools were corrupt, sexual deviants and not skilled enough to handle their jobs. Some others were caring and ran good operations. Remember the attitudes and times back then too. It was “spare the rod, spoil the child”.That went on in all schools in Canada during that era. We can't change history but we can learn from it. If the root cause is in fact," the moose in the room" then address that issue. A man is hugely influential in a family. He needs to understand that it is his job to support that family, that is what men do. To be respectful to his wife. To be a positive example for his children.

  4. was there only women and girls murder and they left the men to live? I'm just asking because that sounds a biased and not the whole story … Why just the murder of the girls, women they allowed all the men to live ?

  5. A white man of wealth would never say the word genocide. It's like calling his own people out. Not gonna happen

  6. I love to see that awareness is being raised about this, hopefully this will lead actions aimed at helping indigenous people, my heart is with you.

  7. Every settler-colonial state is inherently genocidal. From Israel to Australia to America to Canada. In all these cases, European invaders destroyed indigenous nations and societies before bringing in millions of Europeans to settle the land and displace and murder the native inhabitants. No matter how a settler-colonial society may dress itself up, it is based on genocidal violence and that genocidal violence can only be brought to an end when this form of society is overthrown. This can only happen when settlers refuse to be collaborators and instead ally themselves with indigenous peoples to bring down this monstrous system.

  8. How I hate Caucasians… your the same people who murder native Americans. You must want something from them. Foul beast.

  9. Quote: "Dr. Pamela Palmater of Ryerson University says PM Justin Trudeau …. She has no confidence that the political will exists to end the genocide against Indigenous women and girls.". Well, as for JT, I never wanted him to be in ANY official role in politics, certainly not in Ca. anyway, and he's repeatedly proven that I was right; BUT, as much as that's CHAGRIN for me, what the heck is being done to indigenous people, regardless of sex? What's being done to the women and young women?! WRT (with respect to) Cdn govts and human rights, … sick joke. I've been living it for many years and know damn well this country is full of bs, politically; nationally and internationally. JT definitely needs to be OUTED this coming October, and I'll hopefully never get to ever hear of him again at all being involved in ANY Cdn politics, all levels, but who're the options? I don't yet know of any and if there're no recommendable options, then just wipe out, erase, and start the govt all from scratch. It's recurring problem and it needs to be stopped, but how? I definitely don't want JT involved. I can go on with all of this much longer but will just keep it short and say that, NO, I don't trust JT at all. He's like a clown, but the govt shouldn't be a circus act. That, unfortunately, very much is what the govt is; a clown act and damn stupid one. However, I wish these activists good success.

  10. Brown and black babies harvesting by criminal cabals is big business. Cannibals and sex slavery. Has been for centuries. Truth is ugly. Qanon awakening.

  11. To be genocide it must be directed against the whole people. I KNOW these attacks against Indigenous Women and Girls are happening and the attitude of at least indifference towards them on the part of the Canadian Government. Down here in the US I've actually known about it for some years. That isn't the question. But to be genocide it must also be directed against men and boys. Has this also been happening? From some comments it seems that it has. I would appreciate any details anyone could provide.

  12. I was there at the final report event on assignment for the Thunder Bay Net News Ledger. I asked the panel two questions. I was also the Thunder Bay Police Services governor in the early 1990s who started a petition for an inquiry after completing research on family violence. The back story is that I realized the problem more than 25 years ago before I was appointed in 1992. I turned the initiative over to the Ontario Native Women's Association. As far as getting information, I favoured the families. On the other hand, no one was interested in what I had to say.

  13. Non whites need to leave whites to themselves so we can all see how much better we will all do when not being held back/working for whites.

Let them run their own country into the ground

  14. It's been happening here in the U.S. forever…nothing done by the government here. The oil companies "man Camps" cause a lot of it.

  15. Who was the idiot who chose the title of the video? It's not a genocide just because it's serious, that word has a special meaning. You use it as a way to slander Trudeau, as if he is turning a blind eye to genocide. I'm not a fan of Trudeau but I can still be a proponent for protecting indigenous women without trying to slander someone.

  16. If I understood correctly, indigenous people in Canada are second class citizens with limited rights? How many criminal and murderers have been charged and sent to prison? Are indigenous treated differently by the Canadian judicial system? It's shocking to know such atrocities happen in Canada.

  17. Called the horrors visited upon native women GENOCIDE will invalidate their position and that of any true genocide.
It is factually inaccurate and divisive.
YOU want to give native women their power back?
Give each treaty card carrying woman 2 votes in Federal elections for a time equal to the time they were denied a vote.
