This report neglects to mention that this preferential trade status is intended to encourage India to reduce its tariffs for US imports, which India does not want to do. On both sides, any initial inflationary boom from free trade is followed by deflationary contraction. Free trade benefits the elites and banks, not the people.

I do see both sides of the equation however the United States reason for initiating this seems nefarious to me and could have something to do with the conflict in Kashmir.
