  1. God bless those who reached out to assist that brave nurse and I hope she can bring a case of wrongful termination against her former employer.

  2. It'd be good to know why she was fired. I believe that in the case of Vivian, the firing was wrongful, but it does sometimes happen that some employees are justly dismissed, say. It doesn't seem to be the case for Vivian, but it'd still be good to know what the reasons were. It was now over a decade ago, maybe around 2005, or so, and a woman was working in some administrative position at McGill University in Montreal, one of her responsibilities was to evaluate enrollment applications, one guy applied to be enrolled in medical studies, he lacked the officially necessary academic requirements, and the woman had to refuse his application; BUT, he was Jewish of a wealthy family, that family apparently complained about the rejection, the woman was fired (having done her job too precisely), and the guy was or became enrolled, because of mom & dad being influentially wealthy. It, imo, was a rogue thing for McGill to do, for the woman followed official school policy, doing what she officially was required to do. I don't know what ever came of that "story", but it was very disgraceful action that McGill committed against that woman. It was truly f*cked up, excuse my language. She was right and the school was damn wrong. And I never want to visit a doctor who could get through the system without doing it honestly. Unh, unh, "No way, José"! Imagine going through schooling and getting high scholarship only because your mommy & daddy are wealthy! To heck with that. Degrees need to be merited and NOT purchased. Well, that jerk got in and the woman who did her work correctly was what? Fired. Amazing bs! How the heck did GWH or GHW Bush get degreed, how the heck did he even get accepted at ANY university? Daddy! Daddy was "influential". Now, what the heck is the reason with nurse Vivian Obijekwu? It'd be good to have more info. about why the heck she was fired. It doesn't seem like there were good reasons for this "dismissal". It definitely doesn't seem right, and if I'm guessing correctly, then she merits compensation, reparations.

  3. This is an example of the best we humans are and can be . I am so moved I am crying . I love classical music and I love nurses . Both hospitals and symphony orchestras, etc , are vital to our lives . Understaffed hospitals have a higher suffering, morbidity, infection and mortality rate . Like most traditional nonprofits Johns Hopkins, UPMC , etc are not only run like corporations they have become for profit corporations if not on paper but in fact . One of their tools for making more profits is to cut back on staff . Hence hospitals are not as safe nor are they beneficial to healing any more .

  4. This is fabulous. Leave it to the musicians to pull it together when it's crunch time. Their social awareness is a beacon of light for us all. It is horrifying to learn that this nurse is eight months pregnant and her job fired her therefore cutting off her health insurance. This is what you get when corporations run a country. It's time for a National Health Service like every other industrialized country in the world. It is time to start prying the throttling grip these sociopathic businesses have on the throat of the American people. As horrified as I am at what industrialized corporate Johns Hopkins Hospital has done to this woman, I'm equally proud of the musicians who have responded so whole heartedly to come to the aid of this soon to be Mom. Kudos to the musicians; true Americans, and true American heroes!!!

  5. The union movement is in steep decline on this side of the ‘pond’ too. How wonderful to see such an effect display of solidarity. How rare. Marion

  6. Only the 1% are allowed to organize. And they organize primarily to ensure unions can never threaten their exploitation-based profits.

  7. You should ALL leave ‼️
Them see how the Hospital does. JUST LEAVE‼️ If you chose to stay, then shut up and be treated as a slave! 🤷🏻‍♂️

  8. Unions are a much needed breaths of reprieve in a business world designed to capitalize on the humanities. Thank you for covering this!
