The continued arrests of a group of Texas cop watchers is raising serious questions about how the law is applied to citizen journalists. In this episode of the Police Accountability Report, hosts Taya Graham and Stephen Janis investigate two recent arrests of Corners News, whom police charged after he tried to film a series of accident scenes. We discuss the applicable laws and rising legal threats against YouTube activists, examining the implications of the push by Texas police to charge people exercising their First Amendment rights.

  1. Hey pigs. What are you going to do when the people wake up and take you on. You don't stand a chance. He who lives by the sword dies by the sword.

  2. End qualified immunity. Only then will things change. Simple and true! The Gang member in blue are out of control! They always get away without punishment!!

  3. Cops simply cannot be trusted! The Internet is full of rediculous police activity. The Supreme Court ruled cops have qualified immunity so cops are above the Constitution and sovereign citizens. Cops can and do routinely lie, cheat, steal, arrest and murder, covering for other bad cops as they investigate themselves. The district attorneys, judges and cops often collude to alter, hide, withhold, destroy and falsify evidence to damage innocent people. Always videotape the cops. Abolish qualified immunity and civil asset forfeiture.

  4. Thank you for raising awareness! In every profession there are bad apples (even priest) and because we give police awesome power over us they need to be kept accountable and filming is one of the few ways we can do that! For years they knew their word would be believed over ours and some took advantage. Those that don’t want to be filmed are likely those that want to break the rules and even the law themselves. I tried to tell my parents this but it took a bad experience with the same police they gave permission to enter our house. They drew their weapons and threatened me with arrest in front of my 6 year old crying daughter and mother because they didn’t believe me when I said I never even heard of the guy they were looking for. He had the same last name as my boyfriend at the time. They wouldn’t even tell me how they had my name in connection with him.

  5. What is wrong with these prancing idiots? We need our press to be free, anyone who reports an incident is allowed to speak on it! The police work for the people and they need to respect those people. We need a civilian review board to review body cams and arrests, people who know they are going to be seen aren't so smug. Pick people the same way you pick a jury and have them review one of the most intrusive government function!

  6. You need to know, states, county's ect. have are forced criminal charges for the wrongful arrests, false imprison ect so gov does not loose millions.

  7. I watched the full video. All you did was bait and bitch. For all that you got a speeding ticket that you richly deserved. You also admitted to flipping off the officer. In some states doing that while driving is an illegal right hand turn signal..

  8. Hi Taya, what does PAR stand for. I really like your channel as it is very informative. Keep up the good work and the follow up of each case. Be safe out there.

  9. You the people are paying $$$ for this kind of government and policing. Live video streaming is the peoples best tool against unlawful policing and unlawful government inployies. Always film in and on poblic property. Help stop unlawful policing and stay safe.
P.S. If 50% of police are lawful and did there jobs the other 50% would be in jail.

  10. I want to share my story and audio, but I'm worried about the cops going after me… Because I was in an accident with a semi truck and the driver also assaulted me… As I called the cops , they looked me up and have been of NO help. They have ALL the information and nothing…

  11. Here’s why they can’t call YouTubers “organized criminals”. Their defense is that they are making money off of these interactions, but so are news agencies. All of those channels have paid advertisers that fund them. Therefore, if you change an independent journalist who makes money off of stories, you’d have to consider mainstream media members the same.

  12. I love that they are concerned about closing the road down but also not attempting to close the road because they’re too busy mocking this guy. Makes sense to me.
