I am an Englishman; I don't live in the USA I won't even come there as a tourist there is no police accountability they do as they want.
Why have these police been allowed to get away with this, when I watch this, it is like a WW2 movie with the Gestapo and SS it is how they worked there was no accountability they did as they wanted as these have do so.
It is looking like the USA is corrupt from top to bottom, is the FBI also as corrupt why have they not gone in there and removed all the police officers, they are not police they are scum as low as they could be thugs in uniform. When I hear "Indiana cop", I think of a young Mike Pence, but he was bullied in school so he started lifting and taking steroids.
When I was 32, having learned about the problems with police, I wanted to become a cop to be "one of the good ones". Despite being very fit and strong, I was told police only accept young recruits. There could be some good reasons for this (like pensions), but I can't help but think one of them is to avoid hiring people like me, that are too educated, and too old to indoctrinate.
The look I got when I told one I had a PhD was like "you are not our kind. why would you join people like us?". I tried to explain that cops make more than most math PhDs once you consider benefits. Somehow that seemed to actually insult him.
This is a very interesting video. As a conservative, I have supported the building of Cop City – or, at least, I have been against the protesters and the tactics used against it. You have offered some good points for consideration. I doubt you can ever convince me that the tactics are right but the glorification, the expansion, of abusive and militaristic police training is something I can certainly agree needs to be stopped.
If we remember that the police, in every case, at every level of government, in every city, county, or other jurisdiction, are, at their very best, nothing less than the armed enforcement branch of an out of control government. It seems that is something about which we conservatives and you on the left can agree – I hope. If we conservatives can hear your side, and if we all agree that government abuse must be stopped, then you need to hear our side and defend the Constitution as the creator of the Government and as the only thing that restrains government, and that just barely.
Please read this in its entirety because it's important. It's important for the Reiters and for all who want to fight against government and police abuses of any American, including those viewed as oppressed. Conservatives and liberals alike, own guns and defend the right to keep and bear arms but many on the left, particularly in the progressive and socialist circles, support stripping Americans of the right to keep and bear arms. This matters because when we, or when you, accept that the government can operate outside of the Constitution in any thing then you have allowed that the government can operate outside of the Constitution in every thing. The Government becomes the arbiter of when they must, or when they need not, follow the Constitution.
You and I, or your organizations and those I support, might disagree on whether Americans should be permitted to exercise the right to keep and bear arms, and that's OK. But if you're serious about defending against police abuse, and fighting for the protections of the Constitution then you have to support the Constitution always, in every thing. If you disagree with what's in the Constitution, and I know I certainly do at times, the solution is to follow Article V of the Constitution and modify it. The most important thing is that we hold the Government accountable and require that they operate in all things, at all times, with all people, according to the very Constitution that created the Government.
As a lover and defender of the Constitution of the United States, recognizing still that it's not perfect and there are things I might change if I could, I would fight to the death to defend the rights of those with whom I disagree to, for instance, say or do things I hate but are protected under the Constitution. Will you do the same? If you will, when you do, then your movement will have a lot more credibility and support. Well, actually, as I said, we support you and the Constitution anyway. We always support the Constitution, do you?
