A nonviolent domestic dispute in Laredo, Zapata County, Texas took a dark and violent turn after the arrival of local sheriffs. Officers moved to subdue Rigoberto Barrientos, and in the process injured his leg so severely that it later had to be amputated at a local hospital. For over a year, sheriffs fought to prevent the body camera footage of the incident from coming to light. Police Accountability Report unveils the footage of this gruesome and disturbing incident for the first time.

  1. it's time to over turn qualified immunity like they did with abortion. qualified immunity was made up by the courts like abortion. there is nothing in the constitution to allow a group of people to violate the constitution and assault citizen and walk away free. they claim to be professionals, let them get insurance like any other professional, like roofers, plumbers, doctors and lawyers. this will get the bad apples of of the profession. Pierson v. Ray, 386 U.S. 547

  2. Somewhere on ytube today I heard a 911 Operator cop an attitude so woke I was completely caught off guard! The female caller was desperately trying to keep someone alive and was becoming crunchy with all the 911 questions and wanted to know how to breathe for the dying person first while waiting for an ambulance. So this 911 person said , … Well I don't like your tone so goodbye. And hung up on this girl! I was stunned. That was wrong on SO many levels. I hope this doesn't become the norm and stays as a minimum to hiring the wrong "Karen" opps, employee.

  3. These cops are just out of control…. They need to be held accountable. They need to change the laws so that any Police officer found guilty of acting above the guidelines of Policing in circumstances of excessive force or where they have arrested someone not committing a crime that the qualified immunity they have protecting them from their ego tripping encounters and inflicting harm is lifted …. Therefore treating them as the criminals they are in these circumstances. This might finally teach all Police officers to study up and learn the laws they are bound by and know what the rights of The people actually are and the police not just making up their own rules for justice. There is clearly a lack of knowledge in the Police force of the laws they should know before stepping foot outside a Police Station and into the public. These laws would be more widely followed and upheld by police if they lose qualified immunity if they step outside the law themselves Let police be held accountable for their actions …. This way we might see better treatment and respect towards the public and in return the Police might earn some respect back from the public too ! When an officer oversteps the parameters of the Job they are no better than criminals themselves and deserve to face the consequences. Justice for ALL whether they wear a uniform or not ❤️‍🩹

  4. DISGUSTING. using force on a man not being combative.
I wonder how their loved ones and relatives see them after watching them lie. There is no justification on their actions
I hope that the people will not forget this tragedy. How do you call cops for help now in fear this may happen to you??!! SHAME ON THEM.

  5. There’s no such thing as a couple of bad apples in the barrel, the barrel is FULL of rotten apples. There are NO good apples in america. You can’t trust ANYONE who wears a badge and uniform. #FTP. #ACAC.
    #PLDM

  6. So many people, ( including myself) have thrown our TV,s along w mainstream media, right in the trash.

  7. WHAT IN THE MF IS GOUNG ON IN OUR COUNTRY!!! I AM SO PHUKN SICK OF NOTHING BEING DON TO LAW BREAKING "" LAW ENFORCERS""". TEXAS. WAKE WAKE WAKE WAKE WAKE WAKE UP!!!!! IM SCREAMING RIGHT NOW!!!

  8. ONLY USING CAPS FOR ME TO SEE BETTER – UNTIL THE CITIZENS ARE WILLING TO STAND UP & DEMAND BETTER VETTING & TRAINING OF POLICE, NOTHING WIOL CHANGE. IT'S NOT JUST HOLDING POLICE ACCOUNTABLE (WHICH IS EXETREMELY IMPORTANT), IT''S ALSO ACCEPTING THE RESPONSIBLITY OF MAKING CHANGE POSSIBLE.

  9. Something absolutely should be done, this is a horrific story why should the public have to continually be abused by these low life bullies ,tyrants they do not ever hold the guilty accountable.when they do compensate the hurt and injured they make the the taxpayers pay for the damages and it should come out of the policeman’s fund not anything to do with the citizens or taxpayers use their 401 k’s they’d soon stop that crap!!!

  10. Arrest and charge these buttheads!!! The prosecutor must be on the take and in cahoots with the police force. Bet he buddies up with the local judges. This needs to be made right. They assaulted this man!

  11. I saw the raw footage. One cop puts his leg in front of the victim's leg while three big fat pigs push him from behind resulting in his leg snapping at the knee. Like literally bending the wrong way until it snaps and blood pouring everywhere. I hope this poor man gets millions and the police go to prison for ten years each.

  12. You obviously don't know what happened to the leg amputation and why his leg broke so easily. Let me give you a hint, heroin usage and a rotten leg maybe you should go take a ride along and find exactly what it is to be in the front lines. Have a blessed day behind your desk.

  13. To be fair, the domestic call wasn't completely free of violence according to the female in the video who kept saying, "así fuiste tu conmigo" when the cops had him on the ground. So he was roughing her up according to her.

Not that the penalty for domestic violence should be the loss of a leg, although some would argue that it should be or even worse in some cases, just giving the additional context. Alcohol makes people do crazy things; he never should have lost his leg this way, but hopefully he taught him to treat her with dignity, and the cops get what's coming to them. I hope they get the compensation necessary to account for his involuntary disabled status, and the punitive compensation to live a worry free life for the rest of their days.

  14. We have people always complaining about how the police act 😒 🤨. Do you ever wonder what the ratio of law breaking criminals is compared to bad cops 🤨? Hell I bet you can't count high enough for the number for the law breaking, criminal side for that ratio 🤨. Do you ever think about how "over crowded" our prisons systems are all across our country 🤨? It's very embarrassing that our country has so many people that are stupid enough to risk getting caught breaking our laws 🤨. Laws that we are all taught growing up in school to live our lives by 🤨. Our country's laws were put in place to make our country run as smoothly as possible with very little issues 🤨. Yet our country is full of people who know our laws but choose to be CRIMINALS and break our laws 🤨.
Which causes problems to innocent people throughout our country 🤨. Our country's jails are overcrowded with idiots who believed they could break our countries laws and not get caught 🤨. I'm sure cops get sick of arresting people for doing things that we ALL ARE TAUGHT is AGAINST our country's LAWS 🤨. Cops are like parents who get tired of disciplining their grown children who know better to not break our country's laws 🤨. So before you complain about police officers you should complain about how many criminals we have in prison who broke laws that they are ALL TAUGHT to abide by but chose not to 🤨. Who are the people WE CALL when someone does ANYTHING ILLEGAL to us 🤔? I'll give you a hint. It's not criminals 🤨.

  15. My heart aches for this poor man.
I also have personal experience of pooLIEce brutality that has been covered up here in New Zealand. They are evil psychopaths, and for those who are the "good ones" who support assist in these cover ups, they are also complicit in multiple crimes.
Blessed be all of those who are fighting for their lives, true justice and liberty 🙏💖🙏
