The arrest of a cop watcher by Texas police raises serious questions about the rights of citizen journalists and the state of the First Amendment. We examine the unlawful detention of cop watcher David Boren within the context of the right to film police and to document the actions of public officials. Please join journalists Taya Graham and Stephen Janis for this important episode of the Police Accountability Report!

  1. From the videos, many "auditors" push the limits in most cases. They try to get as close as they can push while verbally instigating the officers by verbally abusing those on the scene. What does this have to do with holding cops accountable when it most cases they seem to provoke a reaction for the camera….film all you want but back the hell up….People are crazy today and you never know what some ass-hat is going to do.

  2. Look at the video closely people. Don't fall for this hogwash bullshit. Watch the guy filming from the other side of the driveway. Then, look at where he was arrested on grass. Seems they left out the moment the auditor got so close the officers had to do something. She says officers don't want to be recorded which again is even more bullshit. Did yall know as soon as their lights are activated their cameras automatically turn on to record? Did yall know as soon as they turn on their taser their cameras are automatically turned on? Not only will it started recording but it goes back approximately 40 seconds prior on recording. Officers don't care if you record them, auditors just love to push that limit and buttons then cry wolf when it goes south looking for a good pay day! TRUTH!!!!

  3. Cops don't want people to film them. Police are all members of the country's largest and most violent gang and they act exactly what they are. Thugs, tyrants, and pieces of sh-t.

  4. Cop Culture….
You can beat the rap, but you can't beat the ride. The Government, the Unions, the Citizenry will foot the bill for my unconstitutional and unlawful arrest. No big deal….

  5. Y'all are messing up by trying to emulate professional news organizations of the past. Not only has that boat sailed – the format is contaminated, not respectable, but it was never suitable for the internet age. And it's a waste of resources. Go your own way. Find your own voice. And above all, fewer words and No rhetoric!

  6. Why you ask, do some LEOs try to stop video recording of their actions? The reason is because they do not want to end up like Derek Chauvin. If more Minneapolis police officers were on the scene no one would have been able to record George Floyd death.

  7. Qualified immunity has turned cops into narcissistic thugs and gangsters. Always sue them. Hold thug cops accountable for their crimes. End the INSANITY of Qualified Immunity.
