ALSO, AS FOR VOTERS needing to provide ID's to be allowed to vote at polling stations, this seems odd. I was born in the US and grew up there steadily until age 16, when I left to continue school in Montreal, so in Canada. Eventually became a dualized citizen through naturalization in Ca. and, by that time, was of age to be able to vote. VERY SELDOMLY voted so far, but did vote in one federal election, two provincial ones, two or three municipal ones, and no one at the polls asked for ID. The govts here send, by postal mail, a voter registration card that indicates that the person is registered, so eligible to vote and legally do so. No one ever asked for a photo ID, one that includes name, address, …. And you just present that card at a polling station. Not sure if it's like that in all provinces for provincial elections, but it is in Quebec, plus for federal elections. But if a photo ID was required here and a person didn't have a driver's licence, then the person could just present their provincial health insurance card, which the vast majority of people residing in this province have ; those who want to be able to make use of the govt-provided healthcare system anyway. I PREFER the registered voter cards received by postal mail. Got it this year for the 2019 fed. election but didn't vote, so the card just went out to recycling, for it's paper or cardboard (thin). It doesn't come with photo ID, so if a govt wanted to make sure that a person using such a card with the authentic owner, then such govt could also require that photo ID also be presented. Hasn't happened to me, yet, but it's a requirement that could be added. That shouldn't be at all a problem, for the healthcare card is OFTEN accepted for ID; meaning, a person doesn't need to have a driver's licence. If stopped by police and the person provides them a driver's licence, then that suffices, but if a person doesn't have a DL, then police can likely be able to just use the person's healthcare card, esp. now that patrolling police have computer laptops that have wireless connection. USA doesn't have such a healthcare system though, or not that I know of anyway. So, what kind of photo ID's can people use to vote in the US, I wonder. MY US SSN card, which I've had since shortly have birth, nearly 63 years ago, doesn't have a photo. It's just a small paper card.

My info is first hand as I worked to elect OBAMA and State Constituion Law changes for 4 years.
