  1. Tanden hates Bernie because she blames him for Hillary losing the Presidency and Neera's aspirations for a great job in the Hillary administration.

  2. I just knew there was heavy right-wing Zionist involvement in these attacks. Sure enough, Netanyahu is very cozy with this group. The right-wing Israelis are terrified of Sanders in the Oval Office as he isn't so pro-Israeli as other candidates and in fact shows some sympathy towards the Palestinians. Go figure though. Even though he is Jewish and socialist (like Israel), they don't support him. They only like candidates that are pro-Israel. I won't be surprised if Netanyahu openly states that Sanders "would be dangerous towards Israel" if elected. Or even "Sanders isn't a real Jew".

  3. Interestingly, we now know that Mayor Pete went CAP in hand to the Clintonista wing for support–or perhaps they recruited him. Interesting. And unsurprising.

  4. At what point do we stop believing neoliberals at their word when anyone calls them out on their BS? This guy keeps defending Neera Tanden and CAP as though this "silly, little personal attack" by Think Progress is completely independent of them and not at all supported by them. Neera Tanden only spoke against it when Bernie confronted her on it. How much do you want to bet that, if there was ever a second round of DNC email leaks, we would find more two-faced email from Neera Tanden scheming all kinds of ways to smear and undercut Bernie and every progressive politician?

  5. CAP wants to outright destroy Progressives. So, why is The Real News having a "soft apologist" like Mike Lux to defend a Neoliberal/Corrupt organization like CAP?

Why is there no other guest to counter with a progressive narrative?

  6. Where is Paul Jay when you need him? The Real News; you need to research your topic before you present guests that can be shown to be deceptive, and you should also follow the enduring principle of “Follow the Money” that always yields results. So if you’ll allow me one reference, let’s start with the recent article in Current Affairs:

    https://www.currentaffairs.org/2018/12/why-is-the-center-for-american-progress-betraying-the-left

So read the article and you will understand the “Liberal” or “Progressive” Neera Tanden and the Center for American Progress donated to the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) to the tune of $200k. And remember, the AEI is the home of the warmongering Neocons like Dick Cheney, John Bolton, and for those with a longer memory, Paul Wolfowitz. You should also remember the Koch Brothers are also major funders of the AEI as they do much of their dirty work. During the Iraq WAR, the AEI was central control for the Neocon warmongers involved in this atrocity.

For those of you that may be surprised a “Liberal” institution like the Center for American Progress is funding the AEI hard right warmongers, you really shouldn’t be; money has been flowing from the hard right to the “Liberals” and “Progressives” for years. Not only am I speaking of the contemporary donations from the plutocrats’ corporate entities, but in the days of the Clinton presidency when the “Third Way” initiative was introduced by Clinton and Gore to include Wall Street, the Kochs funded the “Liberal” and “Progressive” “Democratic Leadership Council”. Come in Sucker! I would give the reference but I don’t want to push my luck at not getting ghost banned. Look it up!

The real problem here is twofold. The first is the partisanship of US politics; both sides of politics are owned by the plutocrats and they have to put on this Dog and Pony show to create the illusion you have a choice. You not only have no choice, but as the plutocrats own both parties, you also have no say. No wonder Clinton so easily removed banking regulation (Glass Steagall), introduced NAFTA, and destroyed social security; he was doing it for his donors. The Republicans couldn’t do it but a treacherous Democrat could easily achieve these tasks given to him by the plutocrats.

The next problem is in the language and especially the now broad meanings of “Liberal” and “Progressive”. Not so much with “Liberal” as the liberal identity has shown itself to be a total scam filled with identity politics, two minutes hate, and platitudes and generalizations; the real problem is with the label “Progressive”. The label “Progressive” appears to retain some credibility even after being used for self description by criminal warmongers such as “We came, we saw, he died” Hillary Clinton or “It was worth it” Madeline Albright.

So now you understand that Neera Tanden and the Center for American Progress actually promotes a hard-right warmongering agenda, maybe a considerable rethink is in order; maybe now you can understand why Tanden is for the imperial aggression in Venezuela and against politicians like Bernie. Maybe it’s time for those who are against wealth and income inequality, war and exploitation, and for a strong and healthy democracy and society to think of a new descriptor. And leave these existing compromised, corrupt and deceptive anachronisms in the dust where they belong.

  7. Lol I am a "senior fellow" at CAP. Love these "elite" or "educated" phrases and brands. More like Cheeky Fellows if ya ask me.

  8. Read the Podesta emails on Wikileaks. It is a toss up between Neera Tanden and Robby Mook as to who wins the award for 'Most terrible human in America'. They are vile people.

  9. This guest was too much of an apologist for the "Democratic" Party — he's well aware that the DNC is more interested in the "interests" of their corporate OWNERS than of the hopes and aspirations of their voters! I wish that there had been more of a counter argument or reality check to this guy's rationalizations about the true nature and AIM of CAP & the DNC, which, TRUE Progressives know is about ripping the rug out from under Sanders and all progressive movements in this Oligarchy!…
I wish that a TRUE PROGRESSIVE had been interviewed and not an apologist shill for the corporate hand puppets known as the "Democratic" establishment!…

  10. I would think they would want to stop so-called progressive politicians and progressive people in the party apparatus. They have only ever backed pro-corporatists conservatives with a D next to their names. Only morons would fall for their so-called progressive objectives.

  11. More crap from TRN. The guest tells us cap is changing, he hopes they're changing, they need to be transparent, Neera didn't know nothing, she doesn't like those bad pieces either, they get funding from real nice people without agendas. Exculpating garbage. Thanks for not quoting donation amounts man.
And the new host: speak slower ma'am. Not everyone can follow you.

  12. Just some numbers here looked up:
Depending on how you count, there are between 11 and 17 million millionaires in America. And to belong to the upper one percent means a net worth of more than about 3/4 million bucks. Compare all this to about 40 millions in poverty.

  13. Its like in Texas and "the right to work laws" really means the right to fire, a twist in the words so that average people look upon it favorably when its actually against their best interest and Its a political lie put out to poor uneducated citizens usually to create a barrier to higher wages and or social programs.

  14. This attack on Bernie’s income falls in line with the question Judas raised about the expensive oil used by Lazarus’ sister to anoint Jesus’ head, why not sell it and give the money to the poor? Like Bernie, the Master was unmoved by this stupid question… So all those who ask this question lump themselves in with Judas, not sure this is who they want as company…

  15. People need to get out of the mindset that profit is bad or that the left doesn't want to also profit. It's People over Profits for corporations but everyone on the planet wants personal profit, the small farmers, etc. It's counterproductive to create a substandard economy without leveraging financial literacy to rebuild strong social welfare programs.

  16. CAP/TP- "HA! See? He's a hypocrite millionaire!" (Takes several millions of dollars from Saudi Arabia, U.A.E., and WalMart). CAP/TP- "We made wildly outrageous and false statements about someone and he called us out on it! HOW DARE HE TRY TO MUZZLE US?!?!"

  17. CAP is a tool of the corporatist establishment. This guy is trying to provide cover and apologize for CAP, so he is probably another tool. The establishment absolutely attacks progressives; they punch left all the time.

  18. Bullshit. (not)ThinkProgress is an arm of CAP. Neera Tanden, as usual, is full of shit. CAP/ThinkProgress is for protecting the interests of the donor class. This should be obvious.

  19. Problem is, we do not have COMMON goals. The old guard abandoned representing the common people long ago in favor of corporate money. Wall Street and Main street goals are in diametric opposition.
