  1. Crisis ..reaction..solution..to control us ..how can we have a climate crisis when climate has been altered for over twenty yrs …hypocrites

  2. Same old BS How much is Trudump and the librial party paying this Ass-Hole who owns 3 house and not small and flys all over and tell's us about a carbon footprint!

  3. Yes, Lets give this guy (https://www.syriana-analysis.com/watch-pope-francis-letter-to-president-assad-is-hypocritical-and-disingenuous/) a plug says the fascist. Now there's a man of peace. I'm sure that his idea of a healthy earth is just what we need. Not.

And progressives who deliver the 'your house is on fire' message, without cautioning that that's the message that powerful, capitalist special interests also want put out, as Cory Morningstar (http://www.wrongkindofgreen.org/2019/01/17/the-manufacturing-of-greta-thunberg-for-consent-the-political-economy-of-the-non-profit-industrial-complex/) makes crystal clear, let everyone down even worse than those who do nothing at all. What's better?, a fake friend or no friend at all?

  4. There was no plastic in commercial use in 1945. Imagine that. It only took 75 years to pollute the planet pole to pole while human population quadrupled from 2 to 8 billion and energy consumption grew by 7 times. Time to invent "Super-Plexinol" to power your joy sled while also being eaten, molded and recycled organically by 15 billion poopanoids and pets.

  5. We need to recognize that a 24 hour news cycle is filling our heads with nonsense. If we don't get rid of war, Capitalism and profit driven politics it will be the end of us

  6. He said it, “we’ve been sounding the climate emergency alarm for 30” which is more like since we’ve been keeping track of the weather. We’ve been on the on the brink for a long time according to the climate science experts. I’ve paid attention to a lot of these people and politicians wanting to make policy based on their predictions. But their models have failed time and time again and their predictions have fallen short time and time again. I’m sick of it. The real truth is that the burning of oil and coal has propelled human evolution to heights no one thought was achievable. Period.

  7. July is the hottest month in North America, so this is when we can expect the most wild of the alarmist claims.
" Look, it's hot outside, it must be Global Warming!!"

  8. I understand Trudeau's position though. Everybody else is mining oil even fighting wars contributing to global warming both in emissions and land destruction. Then Canada is expected to sit by. Acting like an angel but having no say in anything because there's no power or leverage.

  9. Dr. Suzuki, you are wrong to say we can go back to 1945 standards. Too late, must go much further back, like the 1600's. But few will succeed. How do you plan on stopping air travel which was only for the rich in 1945? How do you plan on going back to 3 billion humans instead of 7 billion?

  10. Hey David………………………………..why do you own 5 homes ? How many cars do you own, what a hypocrite. His carbon output is alarming for such an environmental spokesman.

  11. " It's a climate crisis and we've been saying that for 30 years" ……………………………………………no credibility issues here.

  12. The Pope is Her Authority on "Climate Change"
I am Catholic but come on.

Suzuki talks about the impact on food. If there is warming doesn't that mean more Canadian land is becoming agriculturally productive?

  13. Dr. Suzuki's proposal to return to the more austere lifestyle of the mid 40's badly misses the point. Factoring in the 70 – 85 million people who had died in WWII, the world population in 1945 was approximately 2.3 billion. Today's world population is well in excess of 7 billion. That's the problem. Even if they were to return to the use of window coolers and ice boxes, which we used in 1945 instead of electric refrigerators and freezers, or the use we made of coal and wood for cooking and heating, the environmental impact of today's population would still be overwhelming. It's the population, stupid!

  14. I love DS but think he makes a strategic blunder in his talk of necessities. The best way to convince people that change is possible is to talk about economic rent, like the classical economists. If people understand how much we are losing to capitalist monopolists, landlords, corporate bankers, they will start to understand that a green economy, if it's a low-rent economy, does not mean the working class making sacrifices. If the working class gets more of the wealth it produces through progressive taxes, worker-owned enterprises, public banks, and affordable housing, we can easily afford a shorter work week. People understand that if they are getting exploited less and have fewer bills to pay, they can work less, have a quality of life that is higher, while the carbon footprint goes down.

  15. Criticism brings us nowhere. When people start making a conscious effort to stop the demand then the suppliers would not be so anxious to supply it. It is a slow transition, would you stop using your vehicle in order to save our planet???

  16. why do conservatives always seem to go against fixing climate change? What is wrong with their heads, that they can't wrap their minds around burning up or drowning?

  17. The Canadian taxpayers payed this fake impresario of carbon emissions. Trees need carbon to live. This is false science.

  18. CO2=Y2Kx1984x666 ………..Well tax me a volcanoes & save the Dead Sea!
You doomers don't love the planet, you just hate yourselves & want to drag the rest of us down with you in your miserably failed lives.
Do you "believers" show as much enthusiasm to "believe" when doctors say your mother could soon be dying as you do when scientists tell you the planet could soon be dying?
You Liberals are the real fear mongering neocons now who eagerly issue CO2 death threats to billions of innocent children.
Let's hope CO2 scientists finally say it's 100% proven before it's too late to say it, not unless they are also only 99% sure the planet isn't flat 🙂

  19. Thank you Dr. Suzuki and TRNN. Completely agree – > Combating climate change is at odds w/very industries and consumption lifestyles that cause it. We as people need to understand that these entities by themselves will never ever change. It's up to people and societies to really come together to overcome that. Figuring that out is the really hard part (i.e. 'embracing the hard decisions'), and time is not on our side.

  20. We've reached the point of absolute contradiction; the lie has been told for so long we actually think it is true. The lie is our denial of the dialectical nature of existence; realization, a critique of the realization and synthesis which defines growth. The lie we've told ourselves is that we are separate from the planet; we are not children of this planet; this planet hasn't nurtured us and is the essence that defines our species. The lie we've told ourselves is that we're part of the other; our sin was our defiance of the other and only through obedience to the other or its proxy can we once again become one with the other. The lie works really well for those that can claim to be the proxy of the other. With all contradictions when there is no synthesis; there will be a crisis and then a collapse and that defines our present dilemma. 85% of today's Carbon reserves have to stay in the ground but that means a 30 to 60% decline in our consumption dominated quality of life. Canada must abandon Tar Sands but in order for the US Petro-Dollar to be significant it needs bitumen to blend with US tight oil. Canada's economy depends upon exporting commodities but to stop western society from collapsing there are countries that will become sacrifice zones and Canada is one of the countries being sacrificed. This planet has nurtured us and like all caring and loving parents she is guiding us; showing us how to mature as a species using the dialectic; in this case through climate chaos.

  21. If you are 15 years old, emissions went up 30% in your lifetime. If you are 30 years old, emissions went up 60% in your lifetime. After 30 years trying, solar and wind are 3% of total world energy use. Claire Fyson said emissions must go down 50% in 10 yrs to avoid 1.5 C. Stefan Rahmstorf said emissions must go down 100% in 20 yrs to avoid 2.0 C. Hans Schellnhuber said 5 of 13 major hothouse tipping points start below 2.0C. When these 5 points are triggered, they trigger the other 8.

This results in runaway hothouse, which can't be stopped or reversed once started. Earth will take thousands of years to recover. But we are also headed for runaway mass extinction, which can't be stopped or reversed once started. 10,000 years ago humans and livestock were 0.03% of land vertebrate biomass. Today humans and livestock are 98% of land vertebrate biomass. Human/livestock food production caused 80% of land vertebrate species extinctions.

All vertebrate males are being biologically emasculated, infertilized and feminized by petrochemicals. In plain English: our dicks and bones are shrinking, we're shooting blanks, and we're turning into females. For tons of data, read: The Withering Bones of Humanity on Loki's Revenge Blog. Petrochemical use grows 7X faster than human population. We don't burn oil anymore, we turn it into IOT devices.

  22. The Canadian voter's answer to Trudeau's idiotic policies will be to vote in an Andrew Shier government. Welcome to kookoo cloud land. 😱

  23. Canada is now and always has been a political backwater. Politicians here have NEVER acted independantly. They have only ever re-acted either out of political expediency or in a fashion after Britain and the US. What we are seeing is business as usual. There is a climate emergency (political expediency), we bought a pipeline to transport Alberta tar to tidewater (after a fashion as directed by US direct investors).

  24. Koch bros own the plant that processes high carbon oil from the sands and Ven. That's why both Venezuela BS and the Canada pipe line games.

  25. Thank God the Canadian government mainly jawbones the climate non-issue and on occasion does the right thing anyway. But we need the energy east pipeline more. All the trans mountain expansion will actually do is supply more cheap oil to the west coast refineries in the USA. Just like the trans mountain does now. Bill C-48 will help guaranty that continues. It's obvious to anyone watching that the US runs our energy sector so the USA will continue getting a great deal on our resources.
