Wow so smart people here. As Egyptian with military background. Egypt Carries airstrikes on places that is not holding any civilians. The reason we do not arrest them as it is so risky to send forces as they will face IEDs and mines and they may ambush the units so this is not risk worth taken. Situation in north sinai is very different than Syria and Iraq as the enemy do not control certain territory. They are hidden cells that carry operations to make propaganda and then disappear.

I really wanted to visit Egypt once last time (I am an Egyptian and Australian citizen). I have great affection for Egypt and wanted to travel the country from top to bottom. The last few years I have really been wondering if it safe to do so anymore without the potential of being arrested. There have been well known cases of Australians visiting Egypt and being arrested. Granted I'm nobody important but an internet post or a comment to a friend or family member on an Egyptian street could have the cops on you.
