  1. As I said in part 1, the elephant in the room is the Pentagon and the war industry supported by the corporate media.. I was stunned to see Rachel Madow, a supposedly intelligent woman, break all the rules of good journalism calling for war with a major nuclear power… The Pentagon is awash with money and they are able to pay off every single elected representative down to the state level..

After 18 years of a half dozen invasions of questionable merit and no anti-war movement??

The NSA's primary function is to suppress political protest using back channel threats to individuals.

The dye has been cast and most people do not have any idea of what has happened..

  2. Indeed global elite has to be faced by global resistance and action, well, the global elite which can be described in many ways such as the oligarchy for one has not an ideal in common but a vast interest in common to safeguard their prerogatives, a very strong cement which unified such scoundrels in the financial and commercial world from the four corners of this planet, this understood we have to question what would unifies the other side of the equation, that is the overwhelming majority of the people who have no power in money terms nor do they have any politically regardless of the farce of the so call democratic vote. What would unifies them is an ideal that the ruling elite doesn’t possess, and as Napoleon Bonaparte once said there are two means of waging war, by the sword and by the idea, and on a long run it is the idea which wins. What is the ideal of the working class? Certainly not what workers unions preach for more than a century, whatever gains they made some sixty years ago it has vanished in the 21st century. What can be the ideal then? Just mention the word communism as an ideal makes an Americans choke badly and go crazy. The ideal of communism is debated in Europe, discussed, argued and look into all kind of angles, but in America it doesn’t even exist in the vocabulary of an American, yet they are now chocking with their precious notion of profit and capitalist efficiency which doesn’t exist but appears to work for a minority which seems to be enough to carry on with it regardless of the total destruction which generates such a system world wide. Accumulation, accumulation, and more accumulation, for whom and for what end? You’re not in the club as George Carlin so correctly said in one of his show long ago, perhaps this was understood as a good joke, the tragedy is that we laugh at our own impotence and stupidity, we shall see what is next, but let’s not expect anything progressive until the people at large have their back against the wall of despair and realises that the choice is not to have a choice, fighting back or perish, be trough poverty or a bullet in the head by the gardians of law and order always ready to obey the state no matter how illegal or unconstitutional their orders are.

  3. IMO……. Great Convo!!! the FEAR mongering iz going to push ppl to FIGHT bak eventually…….it starts VERBALLY and usually ends PHYSICALLY. and the Latter iz wat we DONT want. i dont feel SAFE wit a HUGE military/police, i feel SAFE when Me, and my neighbors are working/eating good/family vacations/block parties/etc

  4. I don't agree with this gentleman. He seems to be saying that the Left has some kind of ideology around militarism that they believe in that has somehow led them astray. I think it's a LOT more simplistic than that. The old guard in DC has been getting their pockets lined with campaign donor money and they merely want to keep the gravy train rolling. I don't think it runs any deeper than this, and to ascribe some kind of deeper feelings or thinking is to not understand what makes these people tick. They are cold, shallow, superficial, selfish people who have jockeyed themselves into positions of power where they get to write and re-write the laws in favor of the industrialists without giving a tinker's damn about the consequences of what they do as long as they are taken care of with sluicing cash. These people in Congress have sold the country out. We put our trust in them and they have been consistently betraying us for the last forty or more years. There's no greater plan than this. How do we know? Because if you ask them about certain kitchen table problems, all you get in return is verbal tap-dancing, platitudes, a lot of engineered emotional verbiage designed to play on the fears of We, the People, so they can manipulate us to get what THEY want; (never mind that their job is to represent OUR wishes, wants, and needs,) and they never have a Plan or Plan B to solve any problem but their own. They only talk about THEIR stuff, and never about OUR needs. I don't agree with this man. Sorry. And this man is from Boston College, which is a Catholic college, and the churches are complicit with this military-industrial complex nightmare all the way; as they were aligned with Hitler back then..

  5. Green Climate Hysteria Fear-Mongering Is Just As Fascist As Right Wing Anti-Communist Anti-Immigrant Fear Mongering. LOL!!!

  6. So the idea is to respond to propaganda arguments with propaganda arguments. The idea is that one side is right and therefore it is okay.

I could not disagree more. Only rational arguments can support policy. If the ostensible left gave a damn over the same time period he is talking about they would not have oversaw:

    – the destruction of education in America. Through first the elimination of tuition free colleges. And then legislation that favors the financial institutions over the American people. To the point where student debt cannot be discharged even by bankruptcy. Witness, too, the failing of American primary education.
-the rise of the war on drugs. Spending more on the building of prisons than education.

These are the foundations of society – and what would allow the possibility of a rational, well educated public, to determine their own policy, without the need to resort to rhetoric to talk down to them.

  7. There is a international party starting to do what this author suggests that the left needs to do to counter millitaristic global elites. The Socialist Equality Party, the International Committee of the Fourth International.

  8. Tulsi Gabbard is the only person running that is not afraid to take on the security narrative & the complete militarization of the world. Tulsi wants to end the wasteful needless wars & put the money back into the country for the people. Maybe worth mentioning in this interview…

  9. Though I understand that TRNN obviously supports the candidacy of Bernie Sanders (constant name association and reports on his campaign), it's remarkable how the interviewers and many of the guests often fail to mention Tulsi Gabbard as a credible presidential candidate. But don't despair Gabbard supporters, Paul Jay did mention in his past interview with Stephen Cohen on April 23 (when Cohen expressed his fear that Gabbard might not receive "her fair time" on the networks), that TRNN has already interviewed her twice and that they were arranging another interview at present.

  10. It does not help that the Democrats – their employment of identity politic notwithstanding – have moved further and further right, pushing Republicans further right in response. That Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton can repeatedly refer to themselves as "progressive" and not be laughed off the stage is illustrative. Thank you, Greg Wilpert and Charles Derber, for this stimulating, essential and necessary conversation!

  11. Ro Khanna declared his support for "a transfer of power" in Venezuela. He also smeared Tulsi as an Assad apologist on a Jimmy Dore live show. AOC said Maduro is dictator. Warren said she supports Guaido's coup efforts. Bernie said Maduro should accept the regime change aid trucks at the Colombian boarder. He also dismissed Hugo Chavez as "a dead communist dictator."

  12. Sorry, but he's wrong at 4:28 hasn't he heard about Tulsi Gabbard? She's a Progressive who is radically anti-war and strongly opposed to unnecessary military intervention.

  13. You should be a lot more worried about America than you probably hear. Here’s the hard, brutal, unforgiving truth. Authoritarian meltdowns proceed in predictable, consistent ways, made of four classic stages which follow each other   and America’s having a textbook one. You can accuse me of alarmism if you want , but I think that these days, not being sufficiently alarmed is the true mistake. don't you?  according to the following four steps. Think of them like dominoes falling. Each one makes the next a little easier to knock down. The legislative, executive, judiciary , the branches of government are taken over by fanatics and extremists in that order. Bang, bang, kaboom! Sometimes it takes a decade or two . sometimes just a year or two. Sometimes it takes hard work ,  sometimes it’s as easy as pie. But the sequence is consistent, predictable, and reliable. There’s an inner logic to it. The last to fall is the judiciary because it is the most independent, the hardest to crack  and also a democracy’s last refuge, because if the courts can’t decide against tyrants…who is there left? That sets up the fourth step , social implosion. the fourth step of social implosion, a society finally turning into a failed, collapsed democracy, a truly authoritarian state, not just politically, but also culturally, socially, psychologically, economically, a place from which there’s often no coming back for generations. How could there be? There’s no check now from any branch on the others, on an executive or legislative or judicial power, the following things to happen, in more or less the following sequence. Sham elections, which are rigged, controlled, manipulated, and outright doctored, in oddly comical ways ! 99% of Russian Vote for Putin!!. Serial and systemic human rights abuses. Crackdowns on dissent. The raiding of the public purse, in broad daylight. Expropriation of minorities, and demonization of marginalized communities ,  to give the “true” people a sense of power. Hate and rage become social norms, celebrated and applauded. Society becomes something very much like modern-day Russia , just  ugly, backwards, uncultured, ruled by its thugs and criminals and mafias, the most violent and abusive rising to the top. Inequality widens, poverty grows, life expectancy falls ,  fuelling more rage and anger, directed downwards at the hated others, not upwards at those responsible for it  and so the vicious cycle continues. Wham! Implosion. it’s no surprise that America’s own worst, it’s most greedy, selfish, and abusive had no compunction whatsoever about doing exactly and precisely that to their very own country. But the rest of us  of the decent, thinking, intelligent ones left ," should!"      ~PEACE!

  14. So Charles Derber many progressives have only been in Congress a few months- Omar, Tlaib, AOC. Ro Khanna has been one of the strongest anti-interventionists. Tulsi Gabbard has been a strong voice on anti-interventionism/ending the wars. Sanders isn't even a democrat. That being said, this group is only a small portion of Congress. They aren't "liberals", they are progressives. The liberals, the status quo democrats, have been in support of every war, military intervention, and military budget. These establishment democrats sold the people out, and sold the anti-war movement out a long time ago. That's why progressives are trying to get rid of the establishment dems

  15. Whatever your opinion on the cause of climate change, it is clear our governments to do not represent the will or best interest of the people in this matter. We have the technology to stay informed and even vote, from home. Why do we need greedy, liars to represent us at all.. WE DON'T! It's time for a new, individual form of vote based governance.
