Analysts Lester Spence and Kimberly Moffit critique Democratic candidates for president as they took on corporate power, healthcare, immigration, gun control, abortion, and Iran. Some ideas and candidates shined, some faded.

  1. Yes, Americans want the resources to make our lives better. We need a restructuring of our economy that serves the general population, not just the few at the top. The country is moving left because Bernie, Elizabeth and others have provided enough information for more people to realize what can be done to correct our government and economy to the benefit of the general population, which we call moving to the left. The more information on how to get good comprehensive healthcare, free college, universal pre-k, better public schools, living wages, etc. the further the country will move left. This is necessary because otherwise as all resources are continually loaded at the top for the few, the bottom is faltering and is not sustainable, which means neither are those up top. The saddest part about this discussion with these two African American college educators is that they fail to mention the greatest direct attack and threat to African Americans today, the U. S. Criminal Justice System, about which Elizabeth spoke emphatically. The criminal justice system is also about who gets paid and who suffers. The U. S. has 5% of world's population but 25% of world's prisoners. As remarkable as this is, what's more remarkable is that almost half of this 25% are from the 6% of the U. S.'s 5% population, who are black boys and men. The bodies and lives of African Americans are once again big commodities and a big source of income within the U. S. economy. Capitalism is not only exploitive of class, but continually on race and the criminal & juvenile justice systems are the industrial complexes where we are marketed. We should at least try to save our children. They deserve so much more.

  4. Your missing the point, the question 'specifically' was would they do away with private insurance, not would they implement Medicare for all, very different framing and very different 'binary' answer which you saw, only 2 raised their hands.
In my country the UK we have had 'Medicare for all' for 60 odd years its our NHS(National Health Service) but we still have Private Insurance as an option to those who want it.
So doing away with Private Insurance does not equate having or not having Medicare for all, they can and do co exist and it seems some of the candidates who did not raise that hands to this specifically framed question actually understood what they were being asked and the ones who raised their hands did not really understand or listen to the question.

  5. YOu do your channel a MASSIVE disservice by not talking about Tulsi. Guess your taking your lead from the corrupt MSM on this one.

  6. What's the use of Paul Jay and The Real News "Reality Asserts Itself" doing 12 or 13 segments with Daniel Ellsberg on the existential danger of neocon warmongering and nuclear proliferation when you don't even mention Tulsi Gabbard's 0multiple interventions on these issues at the first debate?

  7. Tulsi comes out top on instant poll…and records the most Google searches…and you guys choose to completely IGNORE THAT…Wow…
What's happening with you guys ..are you bought too…

  8. It’s amazing that in the two debates none of the Democratic Candidates for president nor Marc Stiner and two Black panelist mention reparation or the black wealth gap as a major issue for leveling the playing for Blacks ADOS

The Democratic party must define how it will address this problem that has been ignored too long. No matter what party is in charge or how the economy is doing Blacks ADOS is aways on the bottom, the last hired and the first fired.

The Democratic party has a history of cherry-picking the issues and candidates it supports, as a result, they were willing to throw the baby out with the bathwater as they did when they doubled down on supporting Clinton over Sanders Who definitely had the ears of the grassroots Americans.

They are doing it all over again by ignoring the grown swell support for addressing reparation and the ADOS movement and the voice and support of candidate Tulsi Gabbard.

  9. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren appear to be the strongest supporters of Medicare For All without compromises
Kamala Harris keeps changing her position.
People need to understand that all their medical bills will be covered without private health insurance. They will have the doctors they want with complicated insurance plans.
Sanders and Warren may need to join forces for a win.

  10. Actually, it's the antics of Trump that have pushed us to the left–that, and the meddlesome ways of Zionists in our government! It's "America" first, not Israel!

  11. Elizabeth Warren is using 10 million of bribe money she solicited for her Senate run in her primary campaign and she has said she will solicit bribes again in the general election. How can you claim corporations arent willing to send her money? Please be honest with your audience. Warren is not Bernie and I will not vote for anyone who solicits bribes from the billionaire class!

  12. The push to the left lol.Had the party not been co-opted and pushed to the right which makes it a centrist right leaning party often in step with the right, a current push to the left is meaningless at this point.

  13. Oh dear….looks like people have cottoned on the fact that you’re also participating in the marginalisation of Ms Gabbard….guessing you’ll be haemorrhaging subscribers

  14. 8:42 This is common sense because 99% is way more than 1%. It's also worth pointing out that the next 9% under the top 1% have approximately equal wealth or about 1/10th by percentage point of population. This means that the bottom 90% of the top 10% are relatively poor compared to the top of the top. These 2-10%ers are the people that you probably perceive as rich, but they just work for the man running their plantation.

  15. Agree. So called Progressives always shooting themselves in the foot for ignoring Tulsi. You think they would not mimic MSM’s ignore Tulsi movement.

  16. In the intro Marc declares "progressives have pushed dems to the left"

remember 2008: just because they are making lefty sounds does not mean they have any true convictions.
