  1. Stephen Cohen and Dmitry Simes are the only two clever and competent american kremlenologists, I know here in Russia. The new generation of american kremlenologists is unfortunayely just ignorant propagandists.

  2. "What desegregated the south was basketball." Good lord, this guy is nuts. No wonder he is always on Fox. Shameful Paul Jay. Lets negate the people who died fighting for decades before Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat.

  3. Well, Professor Cohen is much like his father who seemed to have little problem with segregation and he makes a lot of excuses for this fact. Amazingly, many white southerners knew it was wrong. He has little problem with the anti woman, anti immigrants propaganda coming from Putin.I guess he feels right at home since Putin is seen as the last white leader protecting western conservative(the irony!) values by white supremacists.

I recommend Frontlline's The Putin Files.

  4. My late husband was on football scholarship at U of K & he had the first black roommate, nobody else would room with him. The football team protected this guy or it would have been very difficult for this young black man & not so easy for my husband either. (grad 1968) Talent saved their butts.

  5. Stephen Cohen is THE ONLY person that actually knows what he is talking about. Sad that he has been isolated from American social and media life.

  6. I agree with Prof. Cohen's assessment of Russia in general.  It has been used as a foil for the west for over 100 years.  How incredible that just 9 years after the USSR was obliterated by the global powers that 911 happened and Russia disappeared off the radar; only to suddenly reappear as a new threat to the west just prior to the Sochi Olympics.  One can't help to see the parallels with Nazi Germany and the Munich Olympics.  Was this an accident or fate Prof. Cohen?

  7. He truly knows what he is speaking about. Very logical person. Extremely honest.
Love to watch TheRealNews for this sort of Real Journalism.

  8. it is our "SUDBA" to watch this video! thx to prof. Cohen for his wonderful interview! Hope Russia and the West can be friends!

  9. I love Stephen Cohen! Too bad these videos are horribly cut and titled and released separately so that it's next to impossible to just watch the discussion.

  10. He can't seriously think the lack of Russophobia was from "not knowing any". That's like the opposite of how prejudice & xenophobia works.
… Prolly just meant his area wasn't exposed to it.
