Germans are not free to decide what is best for their country, they are not master of their own house. They live under US occupation and every decision needs the ok from the Americans. The reason why Merkel brought in all those young men from Syria has nothing to do with "humanitarianism" It is part of the American war effort that wants to overthrow Assad with the help of an international mercenary army of Islamist fanatics and adventurers. Letting in a hundred thousand young Syrian men is an effective method to drain the regular, elected government of Basheer al Assad of potential recruits for its army. And that is just one tiny facet of how German politicians serve American imperialist interests over the well being of the native population. The forced aggression against Russia is another thing that is directly contrary to popular will and basic common sense. The extreme right AfD will have a political representation in every region in Germany. The Green vote has increased at the expense of the socialist SPD. On a national level, the SPD has fallen behind the AfD in opinion polls. That's what happens when the so-called worker's party introduces reforms like Hartz4 to depress wages and dismantle the welfare system as what happened under Gerhard Schröder during the late 90's with his Agenda 2010.
The Greens are a middle-class party of people that don't have to work or compete in the rabid German market economy. They mostly come from wealthy backgrounds and inherit high value properties from their parents.
Supports for the SPD has collapsed as working people won't vote for what Piketty describes as the pro-austerity Brahmin left. It would have been possible two election cycles ago for the SPD to form a coalition with the left Die Linke and the Greens in a red/red/green coalition but they didn't want to face the embarrassment of going into coalition with the former SED communist party, Die Linke with their former SPD economics minister Oskar Lafontaine as one of its leaders. Lafontaine's predictions as to what would happen to the SPD had turned out to be true. Going into coalition with Merkel's conservative CDU has been a big mistake.
If the world economy tanks into another serious recession the Euro currency won't be able to withstand the downturn. The AfD will then become the largest political party in Germany and history will repeat itself. Last time it was the Jews that got it in the neck but soon it will be the Muslims.

Germany's conservatives are more leftist than the American Democratic party. They invite refugees, support social welfare strongly, embrace diversity and gender equality. The US is so far right it's sickening.
