Global Carbon Emissions Set to Hit Record High in 2018 – Everything Law and Order Blog

From COP24 in Poland, Greenpeace USA’s Naomi Ages says that carbon emissions are set to rise by 2.7% in 2018 due to more coal use in Asia, and that to combat this trend nations need to do more than what they agreed to in the 2015 Paris Accord

  1. All that happens is talk while the problem keeps on growing because the system we’ve become reliant on is not up for change.
Probably because we all like Cars and iPhones and beef too much, so much so that now, only extinction remains…

  2. All of us need to be concerned about the environment but The Real News should be more credible with its sources. There is no tangible link between climate change, specifically CO2 emissions and storms, fires or other weather events. It's sad that a reputable news program would allow this kind of statement to be made.

  3. Wrong. Canada and US are the worst emission countries per capita. When you are talking about China and India, they have huge populations and will naturally have higher emission. That is not to say they produce a lot of goods North America is using. Using total emission isn't right.

  4. Hold on there the governments of the world are creating this so called problem by burning up the western us mowing down rain forests and not letting folks water there lawns . All that green will absorb CO2 . It is happening all over the world. You best start looking at what your government is doing to you and quit trying to blame the hard workings people of the world.

  5. IT'S ALL READY TOO LATE!!! WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!!! DIE!!! DIE!!! THERE IS NOTHING ANYBODY CAN DO ABOUT IT!!! IT'S TOO LATE!!! WE ARE GOING TO DIE!!! DIE!!!

  6. Consumers need to take responsibility for their direct funding of illegal, unethical and destructive business practises. Consumers control the direction of the market.

  7. Grow your own food. Give your neighbour a helping hand. Stay active and layer your clothes to stay warm instead of turning the heating up. Those "smart meters are useless and harmful. Get rid of them. Sleep earlier and wake up earlier to make the most of daylight hours. Be physically and mentally present with your loved ones instead of giving all your attention to a screen. Make the best of your situation.

  8. It is minus 10 degrees in Ontario at 1400 (midday). I would be willing to trade places with a Californian – I will try to acquire a taste for crassulacean acid metabolism plants starving for carbon dioxide.

  9. At 2:06, did you see those fluffy white clouds from the red/white condenser stacks – soft grey on the shady underside? And those large diameter round things just barely visible behind powerhouse – cooling towers putting out, again – CLOUDS.

  10. Carbon dioxide emissions are good, but I am afraid the rate is too slow. What we need is emissions from ocean surface warming and volcanoes, but these will come late, and human contributions are small in comparison.
Northern food production is slow due to damp and cold – Southern production is slow due to starvation of water and carbon dioxide, so food prices may soon become a pressing policy issue.

  11. The wourld have gone insane! without co2-carbon, the plants would stop growing. and all humans and animals would starve to death.
of course plants need say nitrogen, fosfor and so on to. BUT its co2 and sunlight that realy make plants grow, and the plant transform co2 to oxygen…
cows for example shit out more than 60 pounds manure a day that produse lots of co2 composting,, we better kill them all. the pepople that then starve to death shit to so who cares if we all die so the planet only is livable for fishes and aliens in the future. hehe

  12. Finally some good news. The more CO2 in the air the better plants grow. I think they missed when global warming was renamed climate change after climategate and "how to hide the decline". Small ice age coming and millions will die of hunger 2028 to 2032.

  13. When is the world going to figure out that cheap energy use is irresponsible and dangerous? It's obvious we should all have the "opportunity" to be miserable, starve and freeze to death in the dark using costly green energy solutions. Shame on the evil systems that brought forth the best overall living standards in history and for inventing lightning rods that spared us from Gods' righteous wrath. Make "them" pay or we are doomed now… no, in 10years… no, in 80 years. Never mind when, but we know doom is coming.
