Thousands of Greek workers have mobilized against runaway energy and fuel prices in recent weeks. Although spiking fuel and energy prices are now a global phenomenon tied to inflation driven by corporate profiteering and blowback from failed sanctions against Russia, the crisis has been particularly acute for Greece due to EU-imposed privatization of its energy sector. TRNN reports from the ground as workers fight to increase stagnating wages in light of the cost of living crisis. This video is part of a special Workers of the World series on the cost of living crisis in Europe.

  1. Ummmmm, is it possible that Greeks keep sending leftists to government??!!! Einstein defined "stupidity" as doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. If you don't like the results of socialism, STOP VOTING FOR THEM!!!

  2. CAPITALISM doing what it is designed to do…. SCREW THE WORKING PEOPLE THROUGH EXPLOITATION
Capitalism is the THE CANCER of society

  3. Me thinketh Making America Great Again., at the expense of…….the Rest of the World!@!?😜😝🤪😎

  4. Get rid of your Politicians before these traitors starve you to death. You never find out how much under table money they get from the USA. Working for the evil Empire.

  5. Consider $100 billion already sent to the Ukraine, there must be some loose change available for Greece in the near future

  6. Need to fight back against this carbon dioxide causing global warming!!! The war on gas and oil is causing much of this inflation.

  7. The global energy spike and food inflation has been deliberately engineered. There are hundreds of oil producers, for instance, yet we are told that the Ukraine-Russia conflict has caused spiralling prices the world over. The latest profit statements from the major oil companies are absolutely staggering, yet fuel is double or more everywhere. It is By Design.

  8. You had a similar video last week with France. Can you please replace the subtitles with voiceovers?

  9. We closed our power stations to put windmills and solar shit farms and the IMF among every other central bank in the world had been 'printing money', thus creating inflation for more than a decade, so now everybody is paying a lot more taxes than before, which is destroying the economy and benefits only the state, but somehow the private sector is always the problem and more state is always the answer everyone….

  10. Do not feel sorry for them at all would be a good thing if the hole EU just went broke for any good it has done sheep will follow

  11. If I was the people of greesse , burn or flood the house haha take it now bank

Greesse just proved that bankers are straight cowards

  12. I may be singing out of tune, but based on the Math they cite – they are making. 611 minimum wage , 300 rent, 400 food per month. That just means it's ok for a family with 2 or more working people (which is quite normal). Or you have to share the rent with a roommate if you're single. I'd say that actually looks quite generous for a minumum wage if the expenses are what she states. A minumum doesn't mean average, so in reality an average person is probably getting more.

  13. Greeks are complaining about the consequences of EU policies, but Greeks, by a large margin, say when asked that they support EU membership. So somebody needs to explain to the Greeks that they must take the good with the bad. If they want to remain part of the EU, then they need to live with the consequences of surrendering their sovereignty without complaining. You can't have your cake and eat it too. You cannot vote to live by the EU's rules and then complain that the rules are not made by their democratically accountable national government. They knew the bargain, or had a duty to do their due diligence so that they would know the bargain, before they joined. They need to accept the consequences, both good and bad, or leave, but not constantly complain, strike, etc., about EU rules that their government does not control.

  14. In my cuckfilled home country no one protests ever. Step no 1 have to be to aknowledge that there is a problem and protest it. But how come Greece gets nowherw in solving theyre problems? They just get hit by crysis sfter crysis and get compleyley screwed over snd they come together protest chant do a dance and then nothing gets acomplished or solved in the end, why? In Greece the people at least seem to be in agreement that they have a big problem and protest it and yet in tvey end they get nowhere and are unable to solve it, just why? Whats hindering them?

  15. WHEN YOU ARE GETTING CHEAP FUEL AND GAS FROM RUSSIA. AND EUROPE HAS TO PAY EXPENSIVE OIL AND GAS FROM THE FILTHY AMERICA. DOES IT MAKE SENSE. THATS WHY THE PIPE LINE WAS BLOWN UP. THE PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE AN UPRISING IN THESE COUNTRIES AND BRING DOWN THERE GOVERNMENTS. BECAUSE CORRUPT GOVERNMENTS STICK TOGETHER. AND UKRAINE IS THE BIGGEST CORRUPT COUNTRY IN EUROPE.

  16. My country Sweden is a bunch of cucks which is now famous the world over for that but im surprised by all the crises that hit Greece. I thought Greece were a bunch of champions, how come they are unable to lift their country out of the mess? Why are they continually hit by crysis after crycis. They protest and then nothing happens, why?

  17. My pension , in the European garden Belgium , is up with approx. 5% , while the costS of living are up with a multiple of this . Listen to Varoufakis Yanis , please

  18. this is what you get for being the slave of US..here in Turkey it's no different…pay the bills, hand the US your bases, and soon we will be fighting with each other because they want that

  19. This is due to them selling out the country several years ago to the Unelected overlords who run the EU. Who also really work for the global deep state Mafia, and we know who they are , next to the next to the red sea. In short your being robbed. Destroy the lives of millions/ billions, hopefully they die one way or another, all part of their Agenda 21/30

  20. The prices wont go down because well no more cheap russian gas ever , only lng from america fore top prices ofcours , somebody needs to profit from the war , and its wont be europe thats fore sure.
