On Feb. 28, 2023, two trains traveling along the same track collided in Greece, killing 57 people—many of them students in their teens and 20s returning home from university in Athens. The deaths of 11 workers in the crash sparked two 24-hour strikes from the railway unions, followed by demonstrations across the country that have lasted for weeks and mobilized tens of thousands of people. Workers blame the crash on a lack of properly functioning safety and communication systems, as well as severe understaffing and underfunding of the railways—all originating from “Troika” (EU, IMF, and ECB) structural adjustment imposed on Greece in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. Since 2010, Greek railroads have lost 3500 workers, a third of the rail network has been closed, and mass privatization has swept the industry. TRNN reports from Greece as workers and students march to demand all essential social services such as transportation and education are made free and placed under social and workers’ control. This video is part of a special Workers of the World series on the cost of living crisis in Europe.

  1. Σε παρακολουθουμε Κωστα Γενιδουνια . Τα παιδια μας εργαζονται κοντα σου. Σε ευχαριστώ.

  2. In the United States all of our money is being laundered to Ukrain, but the oligarchs steal the money and flee the country.
Everyone needs to investigate their governments for money laundering schemes.
Where is the money really going?

  3. I'm a rail worker in the UK and we have the safest railway in the world for a reason, this could never have happened here.

We always say to trainees the railway rule book is written in blood, if you don't follow it you're disrespecting all those who died before we had these rules.

  4. Yet another Government that has been infiltrated by the WEF. Why were the trains on the same line? It would have been possible on the old line that was largely single track but this is a new line, double track and electrified. This should not have been possible. Just as well it didn't happen in one of the tunnels otherwise the death toll would have been much worse.

  5. Examples of shit like this all over the United States…here 8n my home town . An old stadium full of asbestos huge property and all the big money company's would not purchase the abandoned property…cause of millions of dollars of asbestos clean up to develop…well what do you know it burnt to the ground and a couple little kids took the blame of starting the blaze still never saw or heard of the punishment but they soon moved in to build a huge kids sports complex no doubt government subsidies…and not one person in Eugene Oregon has brought up the subject people in our community here in lane countyare totally brainwashed into believing the ones in charge would never do this but I'm different and after hearing this shit you've discovered ,I am 100% sure it's the case…thanks girl your awesome and be careful big oil and energy freaks are watching to squash the whistleblowers and it's bullshit bring it earth destroyers of America ..

  6. Maintenance is a cost which can be deferred until it can't. Then you blame the workforce for not being diligent. Meanwhile the money not spent has already left.

  7. The second part of this video clearly shows that while the protests started to demand the truth about the train accident, it turned into something much bigger than this.
The same is true for the protests in France over the age of pensioning. Those demonstrations have turned into something bigger as well.
Be aware that you will see this more often throughout Europe. Including countries whom are not within NATO / EU but are pestered by them such as Moldova and Georgia.
EU / NATO countries are one big drum of oil with a lit match above it waiting to be dropped.

  8. Did they launder your money to Ukraine

Cause in America our bridges roads tracks all messed up but hey social security for non taxpayers

Redistribution of wealth just not their wealth

  9. Safety reduces profits.
    Can't have that! – Capitalism

Holly Martins : Have you ever seen any of your victims?

Harry Lime : You know, I never feel comfortable on these sort of things. Victims? Don't be melodramatic. Look down there. Tell me. Would you really feel any pity if one of those dots stopped moving forever? If I offered you twenty thousand pounds for every dot that stopped, would you really, old man, tell me to keep my money, or would you calculate how many dots you could afford to spare? Free of income tax, old man. Free of income tax – the only way you can save money nowadays.

  10. This will be the United States of America when the impact of BRICS will be fully realized around the world. The petro-dollar will crash and the US economy will follow shortly afterwards. Be prepared, people of the United States. Nobody will come to save you when our economy implodes…

  11. As our governments employees armies democracy fighters neo Nazis kill their citizens in their fight to force humanity,ETA. Slaves of their democracy neo Nazi war lord's. Democracy is not freedoms. Democracy USA, NATO WEF. Ukraine are the greatest threat to humanity ! Bio attacking us all with their cv19 made in Ukraine china USA and?; It's top secret bye the FBI's CIA's in these countries . militaries. They are not our friends. But our enemies .when ,and as they murder us all . In their fight to protect the GUILTY not to protect humanity . Russia is justified . Z for justice .
NATO joe is the leader of the GUILTY . Facts .

  12. FJB

    MEGA 🇺🇲MAGA🇺🇲 KING
Donald J Trump is still my President
    🇺🇲🇺🇲2024🇺🇲🇺🇲

  13. nothing will change in my country. we are the Panama of europe. we got everything. corruption, drugs, prostitute, guns, mafia, at the top level. i forgot something we have all. even US looks like a playground comparing.

  14. The people's RAGE is certainly about much more than the train crash…YEARS of corruption coupled with incompetence has produced complete distrust in authority. And that includes the politics of the E.U., not to mention the rage with NATO'S agenda of aggression, from Serbia, Libya, and now pushing towards nuclear confrontation in Ukraine.

  15. And, the show goes on. Maybe, a lower level manager will be fired because they followed corporate instructions. Maybe. The manufactured outrage will subside as quickly as it grew once the protest leaders are given their share … as unions are run. What union(s) worth a damn give up the legal ability to strike as stated in this interview? Hand wringing by everyone. And, the show goes on …

  16. From what was said in this video, privatization is not the problem. Bad management is the problem. A number of safety systems that were already in place were not maintained.

  17. The WEF is causing all the chaos in the world. George Sorros is destroying America its him an his judge and DA Alvin Bragg that just indicted trump push America closer to a civil war

  18. The blatant disregard for human life is despicable. For every life lost there is a family; widen the circle to friends and acquaintances – everyone in that community is affected.

  19. Never in the history of our country, Greece, has there been such a corrupted Government (an elected one, we had Juntas too) as this one. PM Mitsotakis is in charge of a Mafia, not a political party

  20. Leave the EU and become a sovereign country again. The EU is just a CIA construct to control governments so the rich can get richer off the businesses and resources.

  21. This is part of Agenda 2030 ….people won't be allowed travel outside smart cities so NO Trains,…No Flights,….No Cars …wake the F@#k up people …leave the EU …abolish the EU

  22. Releasing plastic balloons into the environment that endanger birds and other wildlife is not the way to protest unfair conditions by the Rail System. Why kill innocent animals to prove your point?

  23. 6:18 EU directive to split the rail system into different companies, then forced service company privatization, reduced staff 6:50 2008-2015 anti-Troika (EU, ECB, IMF) movement opposed various cutbacks but lost 8:02 as with TrainOSE privatization

  24. It's real hard to say who is good and who's bad at a glance but us white folk best learn to see each other

  25. Such a tragic loss of life in Greece. I’m sorry to see the unsafe rail system. In the U.S. we are having one train accident after another, causing environmental disasters. President Biden’s infrastructure plan is another disaster.
