The success of the Haitian Revolution over the French and British signaled revolution was possible to American slaves over their plantation landowners.
But history shows that it would be capitalism and the emergence of the State that would overthrow slavery and the revolution was suppressed until the 1960's.
The Haitian revolution embodied a humanizing force for all slaves whereas the abolition of the institution of slavery by capitalism and its government did nothing to abolish the racism of the institution. This shows that revolutions are not technical changes alone, they re evolutions through social changes or they are not revolutions at all but merely reforms.
Why do we give billions to Israel, which has better healthcare than WE DO, and we let Haiti fester just off our shores?!?!
