7. Remember how Jill Stein's Green New Deal was derided back when Obama was running? 8. Presidents in the US do not govern…..The team that tapped that President and funded his campaign and backed him with the power to become President runs the US. The Electoral Votes chooses the President. The Electoral Colleges is a body of electors established by the United States Constitution, which forms every four years for the sole purpose of electing the President and Vice President of the United States. No your votes do not count. They never have and never will under the republic system that we are currently governed by. The people do not and have never chosen nor elected any President. The people do not make Presidents. Powerful men and women who come together…..Let's call them sponsorship teams…..The team follow an individual for decades opening doors and closing doors….Sort of corraling the individual…..They think of it as guidance and mentorship. Once enough doors have been opened and their candidate is properly and publicly spotlighted there comes a point when the team feels that he or she is seasoned enough the team raises exorbitant amounts of money called funding. These funds are for backing their man or woman. If there is an unforeseen glitch then favors are called in. At this time people in power are reminded that they owe the team or individual members of the team. Favors owed to him or her are insurance for future glitches and favors have paved many a rocky road to the White House. When the way has been cleared the candidate is then launched and his or her hat is then tossed into the ring. Heavy solid public campaigning begins at this point and the general public is called upon to rally behind the team members candidate. Presidential campaigning is filmed from coast to coast. A Head Quarters is set up in every state and manned by volunteers. Teamsters are schmoozed, babies are kissed, factory workers, (what's left of them) are courted as are Veterans, Police, Firefighters, Teachers, Religious Leaders, who in turn persuade their congregants to to back the teams candidate And Civic Leaders are all appealed to. The press becomes heavily involved casting the candidate in either a good or bad light. As the election day approaches election poll centers are ready in place and polls are taken these are your primaries. Election centers are staffed with volunteers and modestly paid workers who generally are seniors on a fixed income. Tension builds and builds and people mysteriously become fully vested in their chosen candidate. Then the entire world prepares it's selves to watch the polls. And on election day a mad dash is made to your local election polls center. And that night as the event is being thrashed out on every major news Network in the country the entire world is glued to news and social medias for breaking updates and accurate numbers sent in from election polls centers across the US. It is much later that night that the main event occurs. This is when the electoral votes are cast and counted. These votes and these votes alone determine who will win the Presidential election. It's kind of like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade thousands of people help put it together, millions of people get to watch but only a few understand how the entire process actually works, how it all gets funded or that every single balloon has to be carefully harnessed and strategically guided under the IRT line at ninth avenue. And many hold their breaths until each and every balloon has safely made its way to the other side of the tracks. All the general public really sees is the hype, the glitz and glitter. Who really bears the responsibility and who chooses the themes and what kind of floats will be showcased and who bears the financial responsibility never comes to mind. We know that a lot of people helped to put the floats together but they did not make the choices, decisions, nor did they finance it and they don't ride in the floats. In the end when it's all said and done, they, the general public, simply smiles and waves and watches as the parade passes them by.
