  1. Identity politics should be maintained at the expense of substantive or economics/worker concerns?
No. I wouldn't agree with that at all. We need to find common ground, not always stay divided by what's harmed each of us in our little groups. We could spend eons trying to address identity politics–but it would be at the expense of unity over and success of more fundamental shared concerns that could heal our identity divisions along the way.

  2. Haymarket- birth of May day. Let's bring it back and all take a day May 1st off from work in solidarity with all workers everywhere. Now I have to read her book.

  3. I studied under John Mason Hart at the University of Houston, and he told our class the same story about how Citi Bank operated in Mexico in the 19th century. He's written some key works on Mexican history as well and is definitely someone who should be interviewed on the Real News.

  4. it was the Democrats making those ropes to bind the hands of slaves , it was the democrats KKK lunching blacks with those ropes, and today it is the democrats trafficking children across the southern border to be child laborers for BEN & JERRY ice cream !
I say we ban any political party that ever supported slavery !

  5. I want to thank you ,Mark Steiner, for having Miss Christiana Heatherton on your program. Thank you both
    again.
It was nice to see Christina on global center for justice, and another program. I got her book and it is definitely one I would suggest to all. She is an incredible and thoughtful writer and well researched and I want to congratulate her.
She is inspiring to all women and men.
All histories are important, Dorothy Healey and Elizabeth Catlit art and Mexico revolutionaries and radicals entwined with ours here in America, a blending pot for social justice by those who still inspire today.

  6. And like every other revolution this one too failed … Look ate México today instead of this pathetic useless historicism…. Mainstream media mud

  7. Where/How was the Mexican Revolution fit in?
This 'Author' is off her rockers is the host!!
Read the Bucharelli Treaty, signed 1923… a 100 year treatythat Expires in 2023. To listen to this dolt… to believe that Japanese & or blacks shape Mexico…. is unbelievable….

  8. This author is a great example of the benefits of blogging and podcasts to enlighten the masses into historical perspectives. Well done. I look forward to reading her book.
