Tulsi have it right. The best way to reduce inequality is to make all essential services government funded through progressive taxation and withholding where the wealthy pay most of the taxes, because they overwhelmingly grab most of the rewards of productivity increases via their control of government, including writing the laws and funding elections. Combatting this control by any other means has proven futile. Democracy in capitalist countries is an exercise of manufacturing consent through propaganda funded by the wealthy and implemented by the media. The only solution is the most developed countries have adopted, namely by funding all essential services like infrastructure, education, healthcare, and retirement security through withholding and progressive taxation by the government.
