40 million people may lose their jobs in the coronavirus crisis. Former Cigna VP Wendell Potter says tying health insurance to employment has made the outbreak devastating for people, but not for insurance companies.

  1. The Federal government isn't coming to our aid. Just like in a natural disaster it's all up to us. Mask up and glove up. My mask and gloves will protect you and your mask and gloves will protect me.

  2. When are we going to change the focus of our society from profits to people. Health care should never have been for profit. If we have large groups of people without health care we will always be more vulnerable to pandemics. If we do not take care of the poorest and and most vulnerable among us then we are creating a breeding ground for future pandemics. It’s time to get rid of the health insurance parasites by nationalizing our health care and by providing Medicare for all. But not the kind of Medicare that we now have that still requires people tp purchase additional insurance coverage. We need full coverage health care for all, with no loopholes, no deductibles, no profit for insurance vultures that have preyed on our population for decades. Wake up America, we need to make deep and sweeping changes to how we conduct our lives in this country. It’s time to cut the huge snd ever growing wealth gap. It is time to Make America Care Again.

  3. Obama sold insurance to America!
CAPITALIST are out to acquire MONOPOLY money at all costs, not friends!
CAPITALISM DIVIDES AND DENIES EVERYONE WORTH AS TO ONE ANOTHER'S WELL-BEING…. FOR PROFIT!

  4. It's the well-being of one another that's TRUELY of worth!
    MONOPOLY money is make-believe worth!
    Make-believe ends, where truth begins!
Every injustice, is over something else being of worth, than one another's well-being!
    – the homeless in Babylon.
HE'S US! (In the mirror suffering the MONOPOLY of make-believe worth!)

  5. I despise the healthcare insurance companies, I can’t afford to live in the US, mainly because of the healthcare insurance cost. I had to quit my unstable job cobra payment was $600 and now my cost will be &1400 a month. Blood sucking parasites. Actually glad I moved overseas. My total insurance cost for every country in the world, except the US is 3,200 a year for up to a million dollars hospital and everything. Thank you Mr, Potter

  6. Both the unDemocrats and the Rethuglicans love company provided health care because it limits the mobility of labor and maintains the corporate interest of wage-slavery!

  7. Dear Police, when the masses go off…….please don’t get in the way.
We want to see these people hang.

  8. Would it be possible to start a mass movement where we quit en mass the healthcare insurance? Can we bankrupt them by declaring bankruptcy by the millions in a mass action? What if we refuse in masses to pay them a penny and rather go to jail than pay. It would mean of course that we need a lot of doctors who act in solidarity, to take care of people who get into dangerous health situations. It would also mean to leave the banking system so your pay check can’t be stolen. If such a movement became reality it would force them to escalate by raising the their cost even more drastically, which might make a lot more people angry, and motivated to join this movement.
Admittedly this idea is borne of anger, my anger. The real problem is that as individual everyone feels and is powerless against the insurance parasites. This could start right now with simply discontinuing to pay monthly premiums. I know of course a thousand arguments that could turn this into a pipe dream. But it sure felt good to write this as a comment 😉

  9. Anyone else have this happening to them? My son, a construction site welder, has been classified as "essential" but the corporation is just building what they were before, business as usual. This morning safety manager says two people that everyone has been on the site with have tested positive for covid-19. His contractor said they were leaving the site BUT no testing of anyone and we are sending you from Durham to a Chapel Hill site. So…. I spent the whole day trying to get a real person on the phone. Everyone passed the buck and or put me through to voice mail. No one has called me back.

  10. My neighbor has had 3 heart attacks..he was receiving rehab treatments. His clinic has shut their doors. I hope he doesn't have another heart attack and die..just collateral damage I guess. It's the f**king FLU. WAKE THE F' UP!!

  11. DOWN WITH CORPORATE FASCISM!!! DOWN WITH IMPERIAL CAPITALISM!!! DOWN WITH REFORM LEFTIST!!! LONG LIVE THE COMMUNIST REVOLUTIONARY PARTY!!!! A WORLD TO WIN!!!
