IPCC’s New Climate Report: We Could See Irreparable Damage by 2040 – Everything Law and Order Blog

The IPCC climate report once said a 3.6 degree F rise from the pre-industrial era could be disastrous. New research drops that threshold to 2.7 degrees F and says that the point of no-return could be as early as 2040

  1. It's never gonna happend. Take germany. Massive sol cellar build out. 7% enegy contribution. The world we have today, gotten just to, can never run on Green energy. Poor people don't care. More importen to get their daily bread Obiouvsly.

  2. This is all fear mongering nonsense. You can't take inaccurate models from IPCC to make predictions on the climate in the real world. The math is more complex and many factors haven't been taken into account in the IPCC report. The average Jo shmo isn't going to look into it because it takes months or years to understand these complex models.

  3. Yeah, then when we’re on the verge of reaching 2 deg C we’ll make 3 or 4 deg the NEW target. Obviously all our talk about reducing our emissions is just a pathetic joke.

  4. The carbon tax is dumb. It should be on the person level not government. No one trusts governments or corporations. Besides most of these taxes fuck all of the poor people, particularly those that don't live in cities.

  5. I thought as a society we were able to buy solar panels, wind mills and nuclear power plants for electricity production. We also have electric cars and public transportation but somehow the fossil fuel industry is forcing us to use their products. If you don't want to burn fossil fuels then don't, it's really isn't a big problem to choose a different source of energy. Have you noticed when states wanted to reduce smoking or drinking alcohol the states and federal government placed very high taxes to reduce their use. If you want to reduce the use of fossil fuels then tax the people who use fossil fuels. You can tax gasoline another 3-4 dollars to force people into electric cars but you really don't want to do that, you enjoy the large SUV you're driving. No one is stopping the state of Oregon from building nuclear power plants or solar and wind farms. What joke about the year 2030 and climate change. The U S was responsible for 13% of the worlds CO2 emissions in 2017, while China was 27% and they are planning on the construction of more than 2000 coal fired power plants by 2030. Tell me oh great liberal one, where is the threat on CO2 emissions> Could it be a country with more than 1.4 billion?

  6. From the online book "ANOTHER WORLD IS POSSIBLE" on Ecohumanworld web site
No, this must not happen. It's also on you to do something. You need to make a decision: do you want to continue going the current path and only say sorry to future generations, or do you want to take courage and will to build a different world for yourself and for them? A world that we — and those who will come after us — will be proud of. Become part of a solution and not part of the problem.
There exists an alternative to the world we know. In the free-of-charge book I wrote, "Another World is Possible", I reveal this alternative to you and present a world that is entirely different from the existing one, with a completely different social order. It's a world that does not work for money in order to have more, but a world that works in order to become more and rise to a necessary higher level of civilization.

  7. I am a partial clairvoyant. That means, I can see the results of a disaster in which people die…but do not know place where it will happen. Some times, I am just given a date..before it falls into a bank of clouds. I have been having small Clairvoyant visions since I was a teen in teh 1980s I had a feeling a neighboor was about to get raped..it was strong. She stepped into her house that night and was rapped in front of her two small children. Mom told me about it the day after. My "feeling" subsided. Before my marriage in 1998…I was having strange things happen to me. I was not until December I was driving from Vancouver To Seattle on December 23, 2004 I had a vision of standing on a beach on a subtropical island. I was looking behind me and seeing the entire village was smashed to pieces and it was all wet. I told my wife "The greatest Earthquake in History is going to happen on Christmas Day" I have not had anything like that in over a decade…it would drive me to insanity. But the date 2027 appeared in my vision…then what did it do? The numbers were shaped in 3D format and began to slowly tilt to the side and fall into a bank of clouds. I wish what the purpous of the date was about. It could be climate change, it could be my death. But…if Co2 keeps increasing and the Arctic permafrost continues to melt releasing gigatons of methane and co2…then the earth will or is currently entering the tipping point just like what happened from the last climate change called the Paleocen Eocen Thermal Maximum.

  8. I hope I'm still around in to watch you gullible folks pivot and backpedal AGAIN in 12 years. Not to worry, sheeple will forget this too, and you can start a brand new lie with a brand new generation of idiots.

  9. Stop talking about Global warming and start talking about Global cooling, Global warming has finished, we are heading for an Ice age now!

  10. Is it harm to the planet or to the human use of the planet.

The planet has survived through vast extreme temperatures low and hi and is still here.

  11. So yeah, the earth is gonna shake us off like fleas by say 2026. So Miss Sustainable Economy, do you see any solutions to this up and coming human extinction??? "Well, if we can come up with a viable monetary solution….say a tax or a fee on those evil polluters…and not harm the consumers Utopian dream of having everything…then, well…I do have hope. " PEOPLE!!! DO YOU REALLY THINK $$$ IS THE SOLUTION??? It's kinda what got us here. Environmental scientists say we're gonna die…soon. Isn't it time to maybe let go of the money and maybe focus on a sustainable ecology???

  12. The only irreparable damage will be to the IPCC's reputation. I can just imagine what they will be spouting in 2040: "This 30 year cold spell is just a temporary reprieve and makes it all the more urgent that we reduce atmospheric CO2 down to 300 ppm BEFORE WE ALL DIE!!!"

  13. The woman scientist is plain right: energy efficiency is very effective and it saves money. Saving money through energy efficiency makes real financial sense. Subsidizing fossil fuels is madness. Just use renewable energy that has the same or lower cost, and bingo! It is clean energy. And recycle and join the new circular economy, some countries are making great piles of money by recycling. Here are 5 good success stories https://youtu.be/_3pLesuLT4w Start working USA

  14. We are shown flooding which is water, H2O, not CO2. They talk about food shortages yet they pump CO2 into greenhouses to increase production so it would seem more CO2 is needed to produce more food. A young lad looking at bones has nothing to do with global warming or CO2. Then there is a picture of a fire but CO2 is used to put out fires. A picture of a highrise in smog is not CO2. Smoke coming out of a stack is not CO2 since CO2 is invisible. More pictures of smog is not CO2. This all in the first 1:20 to show the viewer that CO2 is a huge problem.
What I saw in those pictures is environmental degradation which is still a huge problem that we have known about for centuries, a problem much worse than CO2.
At 1:57, the report was "called for in particular by the small Island States." In other words they wanted this report so they did this report.
I listened up to 3 minutes and it mentioned predictive science, however the north pole ice disappearing by 2005 didn't happen, the oceans did not rise by 10 feet by 2005, and there are more polar bears now than there were 30 years ago.
I don't believe climate predictive science when models are constructed using CO2 as a prime factor in driving climate. The sun is the largest factor and its output changes over time. Other larger factors of climate include cloud cover, the eccentricity of Earth's orbit, and the albedo effects of snow and pavement.
Why did they not mention the Medieval Warm period when there were trees growing much farther to the earth than now and vickings had large populations on Greenland? If the earth warmed methane would be released from the permafrost but trees would grow farther North and absorb more CO2. Was that a factor in their models?
I am at 7 minutes and can't listen any more. The carbon in oil came from plants. There used to be much more CO2 in the air, when mankind evolved and maybe it is time we returned the CO2 to the atmosphere so that plants could flourish again.

  15. Did you Fly to Morocco or walk? Airlines polluting the sky’s or was that a glider?
I what to travel and not use any fossil fuels. We’re doomed to feedback and that is sad. I’m sorry, I don’t really believe in Hope for this crisis.
Not many people buy Holiday gifts twenty years in advance. Procrastination is the humans weakness.
    Make room for extraterrestrials.
