16. In 2002, I was incarcerated in Michigan. I was sent to Riverside Correctional in Ionia. The drinking water that came from the fountains was brown. Needless to say, not consumable whatsoever.
    I wrote letters to several reporters and not surprisingly…. I never received a response. Fortunately for me, shortly after, I was transferred to another facility.
    As of today, the facility has been mothballed. Not for toxic water, but for budget shortfalls.
    Prisoners are considered lesser human than those who believe they got what they deserved. I used to be one of those people who said….Don't do the crime IF you can't do the time.
    First hand experience changes a person's mindset real quick.
