After fighting right wing fascism since the Great Depression, it seems like that war should’ve ended by now. It obviously hasn’t, but I think the roots of fascism grow out of greed. A subjective analysis, I believe, would show that it’s the lust for ‘gold’ that drives those who are power hungry; because they know that being in control means controlling the available wealth. Power doesn’t chase wealth. On the contrary: wealth chases power in order to maintain the purchasing power of wealth. It all grows out of greed; but once power is acquired, it immediately begins to corrupt, because the powerful feel freed from any kind of restraint, and that’s when the abuse of power finds a place to start happening. As it is written: “For the LOVE of money is the root of all evil:†1st Timothy 6:10 (KJV) If the rich won’t be reasonable about taxation and have no mercy on the impoverished, isn’t it about time they were mercilessly shamed for their greed?
