Things are heating up in Nevada ahead of the midterm elections on Tuesday, Nov. 8. A Republican victory in the state could end up flipping the Senate, and undermine the Democrats’ federal agenda for years to come. That’s why union workers are mobilizing to turn the tide in their state. Culinary Workers Union Local 226 has been leading the charge. Four hundred Local 226 canvassers have knocked on 800,000 doors across the state, and reached over half of Nevada’s Black and Latinx workers, along with over a third of its AAPI voters. Local 226 is an affiliate of UNITE HERE, which represents 300,000 hospitality workers in the US and Canada. The Real News correspondent Jaisal Noor covers UNITE HERE’s efforts from the ground in Nevada.

  1. You want to know where they have strict rent control? In New York and San Francisco.

You want to know where cost of living is high, high crime rates, high homelessness?
In New York and San Francisco.

BTW there was and has been a lot of election fraud…

I am not saying the GOP is perfect but democrat is just the other wing of the same bird….

But whatever, keep voting for the same BS. And when things get worse you deserve it!

  2. These people do not really understand why the gas and Covid disaster happened…the.current party did this. They lost jobs during Biden not during Trump. I am not trump fan I am a realist. Time to research on your own and NOT BELIVE WHAT MEDIA REPORTS

  3. "Canvassing" for the same party that put people out of work as "non-essential" and raised gas prices by shutting down oil production. Rooting for the party that wants to disarm peaceable Americans while at the same time letting violent drug/human traffickers in through the southern border. You can't make this shyt up.

  4. I guarantee you all those of the united culinary workers unions in that room don't know anything what the democrats are really doing for them.

  5. Bs! You vote for a criminal political party and thereby make yourself complicit in the crimes. I'm not pro-Republican, but these citizens, Dem's and Repub's, are nonsensical. Stand and fight for war if that is what you want to do, but if you don't support this, then find a better way to vote. The two main political parties in the US extremely are war criminals. If you do not care for other peoples' rights, then to hell with yours, for you then negate your own rights. I know that Americans are idiots, and the same is evidently true in other countries, including in petit Canada (in terms of population), but that is not an acceptable excuse. Political nonsense with voters needs to stop. It should have happened long ago, but now is better than never. There is no real democracy in the USA or even Canada, and voters certainly are in serious part responsible ; the rest of the responsibility being due to politicians, political candidates, corporations, ….

  6. Talking about fighting for Cobra when we should talk about healthcare for All.
That's why labor is losing ground. AFL CIO. Has to wake up to a new militant strain of unionism and class struggle.

    Peace love and solidarity

  7. I say do away with all government/politicians and start over have turn limits for all, they only make $100 a year for their time in office and ends as soon as their term ends. If they, their families friends or company or any associated with them take money for any kind of special interest or agenda K.I.A. immediately and the company or person that trys to give politician money that company is shut down immediately and all money is distributed to each and every citizen.

  8. You can’t tell me what I can charge for my property. The political goal is to put small landlords out of business for the large rental companies. Small landlords don’t write big checks like lobbyists for Black Rock etc

  9. Abortion is a systematic genocide of black babies activists the liberals donate billions of dollars to kill black babies they don't want to donate billions of dollars for health care and education

  10. Figures a bunch of pinkish shilling for the very socialists that caused half of these problems. Maybe vote for the other side… Maybe they can fix the other half that they caused.
Vote hared people. It will totally work next time.

  11. I want left news. REAL LEFT, not Democrats making arguments about hope news.
Yes, there's some relevance here….but why not ask the voters what's going on? Instead, you're covering unions being USED by a capitalist party.

  12. If you think the Democratic party cares about you you better do your research and stuff following the bullshit why you doing this for you guys know better your spirits telling you it's wrong abortion is murder.

  13. Of course she's part of the scummy culinary union. Corruption at it's finest. Keep paying your dues. What has the dems from NV done to protect against rent.increases?

Funny how they are on the east side of Vegas too.

  14. Unions love struggle . They need their members to suffer and their posted policy states this across the western world . Vote dem and you vote high taxes and high energy costs. Inflation is the policy of these socialist groups .
