It is Technology that has given the Human Race strengths to Grow in to a Species to reckon with on the planet and it is Technology that is going to be the cause of Destruction of both the Planet & the Human race. Eventually We would have Lived / Existed for Nothing as there is going to be no Future Generations to view or give the Human Race Kudos for their Achievements.
It's not surprising that serious discussions can't take place in a society, when perhaps the most obvious threat to survival isn't discussed.
Oddly enough I came across this channel only recently. After the 2016 elections I slowly began to steer away from TYT and Sam Seder…..I was (and still am)definitely going with the Kyle Kulinski’s and Jimmy Dore’s of this world, I can appreciate the Humanist Report, TeleSur and occasionally I don’t mind sitting in on something like Crosstalk on RT.
But this channel (just like Kyle and Jimmy) also offers me the kind of unapologetic true info about the, often disturbing, facts that go on left, right and centre in the world around us. And you guys do a great job at that…hat off for that.
The extra value of this channel is in interviews like this one and a number of other significant interviews that actually take the time and the effort to point out some of the major issues that somehow got institutionalised whitin organisations that hold life and death in their hands…and confront us with the fact that there are actually decisions, that bare the gravest of consequences in them, can be made “somewhere†in the chain of command (without the President or the House even consulting over it)and some of these decisions can not be turned back. I guess the people who are on the button are under scrutiny from Internal Affaires all the time….but even so, you can feel with your elbows that, one day, this has to go wrong. There’s a lot of fuzz about Trump having the nuclear codes….but apparently it takes no more than a very few of much lower ranked people to start the Catastrophe.
Time to watch Dr. Strangelove again…

In the 'late 50's and 60's, we had "bomb" drills in school. Crouching under our desks would not have saved anyone.
Most of the people in the U.S. military in these positions that could be part of an nuke attack are on antidepressants or antipsychotic drugs. That's psychotic- psychotic-Anti-Psychotic?

Probably the most important thing The Real News has ever done, for obvious reasons. I'm reading the book–I know a bit about this, and I'm learning more. All terrifying, but it's time for the species to either grow up or die. It's that simple.
Now, that reality said, I will also add that Ellsberg's got some great bookcases! 🙂 We can still joke around in the middle of dealing, or not, with our collective cancer diagnosis, which we received in 1945 (along with another one, on global warming).
That was a premise of the film, "War Games"–that a simulated attack by the USSR for training purposes was mistaken for a real one. At the time of the film, I thought the scenario fanciful. Now, we learn it was largely true–a dramatized account of actual, historical events!
The real nightmare of nuclear exchange evades the people as does the condition of the Pacific from radical isotopes. Welcome to the anthropogenic apocalypse.
