Police used this dangerous restraint during a fatal arrest, so why isn’t anyone talking about it?

4. This dangerous and deadly restraint performed on Christopher Hensley is a police tactic that was also used in my own police encounter in CA. So I feel fortunate to have survived a near-death of compressional asphyxiation while lying in the prone restraint suffocating and screaming, "I can't breathe" from the heavy weight of an officer straddled on my back. It is heartbreaking to see that police officers continue to use the prone restraint tactic with fatal consequences. My sincere condolences to the Hensley family for the loss of your loved one.

5. For these chuckleheads "fighting to take a breath" = "resisting" and their solution for that is "apply more downward pressure". It's a horrific situation to be in since there is literally nothing you can do as your life is being squeezed out of you. Anyone who wants to help is kept away, the cops who could help just stand around and watch.

Illinois’ cash bail “reform” makes getting out of jail actually harder and you must reveal evidence against you, MOT AT TRIAL but at your BOND HEARING the court MUST consider the weight of the evidence, your chances of being convicted, all misdemeanors and ORDINANCE violations in order to “determine” you bail conditions. If you do NOT comply and give the court all of this evidence against you and your entire non-criminal, mental health and criminal history including suicidal thoughts EVER, you SHALL be determined uncooperative for using your 5th Amendment, and determined to be a flight risk.

   It also, make NO-KNOCK WARRANTS perfectly legal and acceptable under statute.

11. This is what I'm seeing in the news reporting about this incident. "After Hensley was handcuffed and taken into custody, he became unresponsive. Officers began CPR and requested Emergency Medical Services, and Hensley was transported to the hospital where he died."
    Handcuffed and taken into custody? More like handcuffed and taken out of this world.

40. We see seven big burly policemen handling a man who is already lying helplessly on the ground probably gasping for breath. Whatever be his crime or misbeviour why treat him like he was some wild animal. Or unless he has attacked a couple of policemen. Why so many policemen for one man? They seem to enjoy pinning him to the ground and suffocate him to death. This was the worst sadistic form of murder directly or indirectly. The police should be suspended charged, tried and eventually dismissed from service.

44. Thank you PAR for being the disinfecting sunlight in a world of darkness. In addition to reaching out to the police for comment you should also try to contact BLM the organization for comment. As the most noticable organization stating to work to hold police accountable I would be interested to know their comments and plans. I for one want to see the police held accountable for their actions regardless of the victim.
