  1. It's amazing that the Catholic Church is to some extent a pedophile ring it itself, a backer of right wing murderers, and opposed to democratic formations like liberation theology, yet still contains a left wing element at the same time. Maybe it's no different that society everywhere, but the left should not mistake the anti democratic nature of Catholicism. The Catholic church usually will ally with fascists within a troubled nation. I'd love to see a revolutionary element that either starts its own religious trend or takes over the church. It's hard to tolerate people riding on the authority and power who by their being Catholic seem to tolerate child abuse, homophobia, and fascism. Catholicism clearly has a criminal element securely within the heights of power throughout the church.

  2. churches debase spirituality, everything is inverted on earth. everything. govts attack their people. money enslaves. those in authority are the most debased. some of the most spiritually high are poor nobody's. its 100% inverted and satanic.

  3. No surprise up to 80% of priests are gay in the Vatican Catholic religion is a man made con trick to make money , have access to children ,and a cult for gay men to hide in .

  4. 4:50

"who wouldn't be [accepting of homosexuals] in today's world If you've done your science – science has spoken"

Lol, what the fuck has become of ethics that this statement makes any sense

Homosexuality isn't ok because some jerk offs in lab coats said so, or even because they've determined that sexuality is innate and immutable (which, arguably, is not even the case).

Edit: Be gay do crimes, and don't wait for a guy with a doctorate to say it's ok

  5. The Church does not hate gay people. One of the core teachings of the Catholic Church is that man is made in the image and likeness of God and should be treated accordingly. This guy is full of shit.

  6. Mr Martel is neither Catholic, nor remotely informed of theological nuances and intricacies. His book is a collection of innuendo, rumor, gossip, and agenda driven by wild speculation and absurd conspiracy theory. The book often borders on hysteria. He claims more than 80% of the Vatican is Gay. How does Martel know this? How dare you ask. And the wild, all-night back-alley gay orgies? One might ask for some proof of these outrageous claims. But Martel has none.He simply knows…and how dare you question him. If you are looking for evidence, for fact, you will find none in this book. The Guardian says: "It’s a pity that Martel’s book is so preposterously long and lazily repetitive; lacking an index, it will be useless as a reference work."

That is because he is endlessly passing on endless rumors, and gossip, and tittle-tattle as fact. He knows much of what he heard is fueled by personal vendetta, political envy, and career-striving, self-serving Machiavellian ambition. Although acutely aware of this fact, Martel chooses to ignore all that. Many reviewers of the book have pointed-out, that strangely enough, Martel has an obsessive, neurotic, compulsion to attack gay people. His convoluted "reasoning" goes like this: If a Cleric is straight, he defends gay people. But if a cleric is gay, then he will attack and condemn gays. Wait…What? No seriously, that is the premise of the book.

Which is more than curious. You see, Martel himself is gay. Which is wonderful. Be who you are. Neither straights nor gays hold a moral, ethical superiority. We are all equals. But, according to people who know Martel, he has never come to turns with his own twisted, wretched inner demons, as many who know him, have spoken about for years. Friends and associates have noticed Martel seems to be struggling with some unresolved personal issues. Many of us, especially in today's polarized world, can relate. But that does not grant one the license to attack people for being homosexual.

Many have condemned the book, as a petty, personal attack that strangely glorifies the straight priests, who, according to Martel are defending gays. While condemning the gay priests, who according to Martel's twisted thinking, are attacking homosexuality. Martel's tortured logic here is unforgivable. Particularly in light of the pedophile crimes, the church covered-up. As a Catholic, I am very troubled, shaken actually, by the pedophilia and cover-ups. I am not concerned that a priest may be gay. But Martel takes this, and turns it into the worst type of gutter sleaze fit for a B grade noir that Hollywood would love. It has been reported he is currently shopping the book in Hollywood, looking for a seven figure payday. I suspect he will get it.

So it is not pedophilia per say, that is the problem for Mr Martel. No, it is the homosexuality of 80% of all Bishops and Cardinals, even the Popes which outrages Mr. Martel. This brings to mind, the anti-gay attacks by J. Edgar Hoover, Roy Cohen, etc, etc back in the 1950's. Self-loathing gays were a tragic remnant of the past, one would have thought. But not in Martel's twisted narrative. Shakespeare once wrote:"methinks thou dost protest too much".

The Syndicate wrote: "the book often fails as a work of journalism (see Michael Sean Winters’s review), and to the extent it claims itself as a work of sociology—which it often does—it fails even more extensively.https://syndicate.network/symposia/theology/in-the-closet-of-the-vatican/ And Mr Martel's speculation of wild, all-night sex orgies within the Vatican, lacks not just documented, factual, citations. It lack any credibility. The Irish Times called his book: "silly, offensive and potentially dangerous".https://www.irishtimes.com/news/world/us/new-expose-on-homosexuality-in-the-vatican-is-silly-offensive-and-potentially-dangerous-1.3797057 Generally, the book has been denounced around the world. American Magazine wrote: "If you like gossip, anecdotes, salacious stories and innuendo about people in high places in the church, then you will probably like this book. But if you are looking for hard evidence, documentation, separation of fact from assumption or other forms of proof to sustain the allegations or claims being made in this text, then you will be disappointed."https://www.americamagazine.org/faith/2019/02/20/new-book-closet-vatican-produces-toxic-cloud-suspicion The book is also been roundly criticized throughout the world, for its numerous anti-gay slurs. Martel pulls-out every anti-gay trope and insult. Many reviewers of the book have commented on Mr Martel's gay self-loathing tendencies. An example from another harsh critic of the rumor-laden book: "Here’s Martel describing the traditionalist Cardinal Raymond Burke, known for his elaborate traditional vestments:

There’s nothing effeminate about Burke: it is a matter of respecting tradition, he says. Still: his accoutrements and his unusual drag-queen appearance tell another story."

This quote is from a substantial, lengthy review of the many anti-gay insults in the book, is from…of all places, The American Conservative. https://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/frederic-martel-bad-book-part-i/
It is a shame Mr. Martel can not accept gay people as being authentic, legitimate human beings.
And I am so disappointed that The Real News spent so much time, and money promoting a book which demonizes homosexuality.

TRNN should have done a little more research. They would have found Martel is a Corporate shill for the Global Elite. He is only comfortable rubbing shoulders with the 1% at Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, Berkeley and the MIT. Along with well-financed think-tanks and foundations, that have made him a wealthy man.Yet, he remains a confused, troubled man wrestling with his own unresolved inner demons.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fr%C3%A9d%C3%A9ric_Martel

  7. As long as the ban of contraceptives exists, the Catholic Church can never redeem itself. Blatant misogyny is the core of that organisation and most of their problems originate from it. The main problem, though, is that most Catholic believers just do not care, being themselves deeply misogynistic (possibly through early religious "brainwashing" and " indoctrination"). They will stay in that faith, no matter what.

  8. Excellent interview/discussion, and I'm somewhat surprised about learning that the most so-called anti-sexual, if that's an appropriate term in this case, among … so-called clergy are themselves homosexuals, …., whatever they only pretend to NOT be, so not being true to their own nature, say. I read that about one, if not a few, politicians in the USA over the past … years. They ostensibly, publicly, condemned homosexuality and they, themselves, were homosexuals, or whatever it was; some sexual "stuff". I'm not anti-Christian and wish to be Christian in a true sense, but am against the corruption of the humanly instituted churches. Jean Vanier a very appreciated Roman Catholic published a book around the late 1970s or early 1980s, and in it he was quite critical of the RCC, saying that the church was like repeatedly recrucifying Christ (as if one wasn't enough), because the church was very sinful; and, well, that hasn't significantly changed, plus he was damn right. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Vanier That page is short, so people will need to do some extra searching, but PLENTY of RCC clergy and other members agreed with him; silent applause, "of course", but agreeed. Yes, the churches are corrupt, yes. Well, it doesn't mean that a person can't be a follower of Christ's teachings, for this is an individual matter. However, Matthew Fox speaks about self hatred and that's something I question. It's his interpretation, but I question the idea that these corrupt church "elites" are suffering from self hatred. Hypocrisy, however, definitely. Some politicians are similarly hypocritical. I don't think they self hate themselves. Maybe, instead, they're pervertedly in love or infatuated with themselves. It's along the lines of psychopathiia or sociopathia, which are pretty much the same thing or condition. Of course such people don't volunteer to admit their nature, for they like doing what they do. I don't think the perverted cleargy, as well as other similar people, are what I'ld call self hating. They're definitely sick though .

  9. I like this guy : well said. My take on reality : rational and fair people need to unite across the world. Whether you are Christian/Jewish/Musilm/Hindu/etc., agnostic, atheist… we need to unite against the sociopaths that lead this world and all the odd leaders in various religions.

  10. "Um um, you know, um, um, um, um" No thanks! Good topic but the quality of guests is deteriorating.

  11. They should just fly a commercial plane into Vatican church, it will come down in 10 seconds just like on 9/11.

  12. Read the book of bella dodd and the subversion of communists and homosexuals in the clergy. It was an infiltration. Pedophilia is 8 % of the world which we know is rampant thruogh the poloticians as well as royalty. Jefferet epstein, jimmy saville and franklin coverup is rampant. Please don't even delve into hollywood.
