  1. I continually turn to alternate news sites. The Intercept with Jeremy Scahill, Amy Goodman from Democracy Now!, Glenn Greenwald, Jimmy Dore, The Keiser Report, Noam Chomsky, Chris hedges, The Ralph Nader Hour, The Real News, and Thomas Frank. These are just some of the news sites that appeal to the thinking person. Occasionally, I listen to mainstream media just to find out what they're saying. Mostly it's
propaganda, a pablum for those who want their life lived for them. Just like school. Just spoon it in and you'll get A's. You won't have any common sense or ability to not be led, but what the hey. Your parents can affix that bumper sticker that tells us how proud your parents are about you.

  2. A wonderful subject that perhaps can be leveraged most to enact positive change. The public need their own intelligence gathering systems so as to maintain their position at the table.

  3. the ones who charge 'fake news' the most are the ones most in favor of it depending on whom it comes from, for example if from trump.

  4. Let's not forget those establishment Democrats, who hated the Progressives nominating George McGovern, went and started "Democrats for Nixon" to scuttle McGovern's chances, when you're trying to figure out how Nixon got re-elected.

  5. Jingoism and propaganda might be as old as journalism itself.

So, it’s free and radical conversations that are relatively now.

  6. Yea fake news is nothing new but we have internet now so now we know about it there are still ppl out there who still believe all the rubbish they hear on the TV and read in the newspapers.

  7. Wasn't the washing post considered a small paper at the time and it took two real journalists professionalism to bring the story to the attention of the nation? . Weird since then the American public think that was the American governments only transgression .
