  1. This is why they're tryin their damnedest to keep black people out of positions of power.. Bcuz they know that the tables will turn.. If I was in that spot, I would do the same exact thing.. FOH!!!

  2. How can you criticize Mosby for her discretional move? White prosecutors are using discretion in other cities for decriminalizing opioid/heroin users.

  3. Well, given that marijuana has been found to be a safe way of alleviating the physical effects of withdrawal from hard drugs like heroin one might argue that it has potential to be a gateway drug although not in the sense meant by the anti pot crusaders. The non addictive pain relief capacity of marijuana poses a threat to the pharmaceutical industry which has become hijacked by people who are simply evil and who are lining the pockets of politicians who should be lined up and shot alongside the CEOs who are jacking up prices for lifesaving drugs.

  4. Legalize,,,,When is the mayor going to speak out? Street dealers and violence are a fact of life due to the drug war. Legalize and put the drugs in stores like the good old days (1890s). That should cut the murder rate down to a few dozen per year.

The drug war has contributed to the isolation and degradation of the inner city communities as much as redlining by the banks and other ostensible forms of racism practiced by the dominant white establishment. It is all about oppression and exploitation, mostly of black folk.

I live in Baltimore and my neighbors are quietly stoned and not raucously drunk. I like that! Just stand down on all drugs. Read Michelle Alexander's book…..the New Jim Crow.

Kudos to Mosby. She is a true hero and she needs our support.

The war on drugs needs to end now. Quit pissing our civil rights and tax money away. It is tiresome arguing the stupidity of the drug war. Are we sheep, or what?

  5. “Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man."
    ― Francis Young – DEA Judge – 1988

"The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world."
    – Dr. Carl Sagan (American Cosmologist, Astrobiologist, author & science communicator)

Marijuana is less dangerous than alcohol & less addictive than caffeine.

"Penalties against possession of a drug should not be more damaging to an individual than the use of the drug itself; and where they are, they should be changed. Nowhere is this more clear than in the laws against possession of marijuana in private for personal use…”
    – Jimmy Carter (U.S.President)

“Congress should definitely consider decriminalizing possession of marijuana…We should concentrate on prosecuting the rapists and burglars who are a menace to society.”
-Dan Quayle (U.S. Representative & Vice President)

"Even if one takes every reefer madness allegation of the prohibitionists at face value, marijuana prohibition has done far more harm to far more people than marijuana ever could."
“The anti-marijuana campaign is a cancerous tissue of lies, undermining law enforcement, aggravating the drug problem, depriving the sick of needed help and suckering well intentioned conservatives and countless frightened parents.”
    – William F. Buckley Jr. (American conservative author and commentator)

“You bet I did -— and I enjoyed it.” ….when asked if he had ever smoked marijuana.
    – Michael Bloomberg (New York City Mayor)

"Studies have consistently failed to establish the existence of a link between the harshness of a country’s drug laws and its levels of drug use."
    -Kofi Annan (U.N. Secretary General)

"Pot is a better drug than alcohol. I'll prove it to you. You're at a ball game or a concert, and someone's really violent and aggressive and obnoxious, are they drunk or are they smoking pot?"
“Why is pot against the law? It wouldn't be because anyone can grow it, and therefore you can't make a profit off it, would it?”
“…It grows naturally upon our planet. Doesn’t the idea of making nature against the law seem to you a bit…unnatural?”
-Bill Hicks (Satirist, Social Critic, Stand-Up Comedian)

"If the words "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" don't include the right to experiment with your own consciousness, then the Declaration of Independence isn't worth the hemp it was written on."
    – Terence McKenna (American ethnobotanist, author, advocate for responsible use of natural psychedelic plants)

  6. You know what DOES make a person more likely to become a heroin user? Getting hooked on Pharmaceutical opioids by a doctor that has been influenced by corrupt pharmaceutical manufacturer marketing practices.

Why don't the cops go after the real culprits in the opioid addiction crisis, the pharmaceutical companies that produce opioids themselves, and then lead massive marketing campaigns to increase the prescription rates by doctors all over the country, getting people hooked on opioids just so they can amass more wealth.

  7. To all the legalise commenters: Pot IS a soporific (relaxing) so you still have to ban usage for many jobs. Truck drivers / forklift drivers / chainsaw operators (and other dangerous tools) – these are all situations where you have to be straight and sober. Pot has to be treated like alcohol. Limited by situation.

So when is Attny Mosby going to go after all the white collar business people being drunk during work time ?? A drunk businessperson (politician etc etc) can do billions of dollars worth of 'damage'. A stoner would be hard pressed to make $200,000 damage.
Alcohol is the drug of the rich. They blatantly use/abuse it while the madness in the above video continues.

  8. Why do we even have the police? They do nothing but cause more trouble than they solve. It's time to disband police departments and invest the money we spend on them in our communities in a much more meaningful way.

  9. Cops get to steal during arrests, so that's going to keep them beating down those who are nto rich enough to fight back.

  10. Voice of reason. If money was invested in schools & community centers instead of prosecution, drug use would lessen among young black people. Hope is the ultimate high.

  11. It's simple same reason why white people don't think there's a problem with our policing they don't see the police in their day-to-day life they stay in the minority areas. I don't know why this is so complicated.

  12. I'm confused, it seems like there would be more interactions with black people where the population is 95% black, police commissioner is black, etc. I get the disproportionate impacts on communities but at some point if it's 95% of one ethnicity you're gonna have all types of crime and all types of people. Good on her for pushing back, I'm sure she sees it from another perspective.

  13. This is why the PRINCIPLE is important. The PRINCIPLE should be that we CANNOT arrest people due HAVING a substance or, for that matter, using or selling a substance. Legalize all drugs.

  14. Put The Funds Back Into The Comunitys To Prevent Drug Use…
Locking Up Users Is A Waste of Money That Could Be Used Better Elsewhere, Keep Up The Good Work Girl!

  15. Why is the view of dinosaur Tabling important to the reporting? His days are over. It's time for new beginnings. I'm not pro Mosby, However, when you're right, you're right.

  16. So once again we think that the blocks are the only one that are affected by this right you don't report about anybody else but blacks that's funny are you racist

  17. Every police chief knows that they have to play the numbers game to maintain their exorbitant budgets. Ultimately, the taxpayer loses.

  18. Gateway drugs are given in every pharmacy store, Ritalin, Adderal, OXY… These are gateway drugs. But when police serves real criminals, they trying to eliminate competition to their drugs, heroin, cocain, oxy, adderal, ritalin, antidepressants… Trying to eliminate market which reduce the use of heroin, cocaine, oxy, adderal, ritalin, antidepressants…
