Well, given that marijuana has been found to be a safe way of alleviating the physical effects of withdrawal from hard drugs like heroin one might argue that it has potential to be a gateway drug although not in the sense meant by the anti pot crusaders. The non addictive pain relief capacity of marijuana poses a threat to the pharmaceutical industry which has become hijacked by people who are simply evil and who are lining the pockets of politicians who should be lined up and shot alongside the CEOs who are jacking up prices for lifesaving drugs.

11. You know what DOES make a person more likely to become a heroin user? Getting hooked on Pharmaceutical opioids by a doctor that has been influenced by corrupt pharmaceutical manufacturer marketing practices.

    Why don't the cops go after the real culprits in the opioid addiction crisis, the pharmaceutical companies that produce opioids themselves, and then lead massive marketing campaigns to increase the prescription rates by doctors all over the country, getting people hooked on opioids just so they can amass more wealth.

14. To all the legalise commenters: Pot IS a soporific (relaxing) so you still have to ban usage for many jobs. Truck drivers / forklift drivers / chainsaw operators (and other dangerous tools) – these are all situations where you have to be straight and sober. Pot has to be treated like alcohol.
