Right Wing Nationalist Rulers: An International Movement That Threatens Our Future – Everything Law and Order Blog

Trump is the international right’s Godfather and, as John Feffer tells us, they are filling the void of fear that has been left in the wake of neoliberal policies. The question is whether progressives and the left have an answer to their advance.

  1. Guest speaker shut that hole in your face. Nationalism ? Trump ? Your far worst with your hatred liberalism destruction racist, yes your all the racist. The demon-cratic party is a cancer that will be irradiated, cut out and removed from this Beautiful Nation. You poison our children and our youths. You continue to destroy our schools and our places of worship. Your un-American you cheat and steal elections your so corrupt it's disgusting THIS IS THE BEST NATION ON EARTH and once the demon-cratic party no longer exist we will again be the Greatest Nation that ever was. TRUMP 2022 TRUMP 2024 TRUMP 2028 TRUMP 2032 TRUMP 2036

  2. Why can't you admit the obvious -that US destabilisation and exploitation against nations that dared to represent the people of – the Middle East – South America – Africa – Yugoslavia – and parts of Asia has caused the world refugee crisis? America hates democracy and is itself an oligarchy – hypocritically pretending to be a democracy.

  3. You cannot say Putin is right wing because he believes in a controled capitalist (mixed system) where the state controls the most important parts of resources, economic and financial aspects of a country, were all people should have to the right to public schooling, universal healthare, culture, artistic, musical and sports education, public libraries, museums, good public infraestructure, buses, trains, community centers, better pay, etc. Where oligarchs or exploitive companies do not exist. And legislation is according to these. Which in reality that exists and a much better life for the Russian people after living horribly after the dissapeareance of the Soviet Union but also part of the reality is crime, big burocracy, corruption and political surveillance by the government.

  4. The so called “Cold War Consensus” was militarism, fear-mongering, and dirty wars promoted by the Fascist Corporate War State USA….

  5. This is happening everywhere. From Buddhist countries to Roman Catholic to Hindu to Muslim countries. What is the unifying issue? Neo liberal economics. Privatization of all essential services from sewage to water to roads and electricity. Then the rise of precarious jobs where there is virtually no job security and extremely low wages.

These problems are happening in countries like Chile, Brazil to Philippines. Ask an Egyptian or Mexican or Turk and they will say the same thing.

When neo liberalism fails you get the radical right and after that you get internal conflict or external wars. Look at Turkey and Syria.

The other problem is that neo liberalism and the left have become synonymous with each other. The liberals sold out and they were co opted by the corporations and the working people around the world have been betrayed.

  6. So we're calling imperialism globalism and the global economy and Trump's fascism is the problem? Typical neoliberal talking points, we've been listening to forever.

The problem with the left is that the democratic party is no longer the left. He's correct that the left lacks institutional power, it doesn't even have a party that's allowed to participate in the election process.

  7. The far right democratic Party is not an alternative to Trump. Their xenophobic Russian hysteria, fawning over intelligence agencies, and full throated support for illegal occupation of Syria is a grotesque spectacle to witness.

  8. The Left is dead, ideologically and morally. The Left has been hijacked by Liberals more interested in identity politics than real issues. The Left is motivation for people to turn to the right.
PS Putin is not right wing, a nationalist but they are not one and the same.

  9. This entire analysis is so superficial as to be almost laughable. The entire neo-liberal economic project, which is being instituted by the West globally, is from a strictly economic perspective, right-wing. Evidently these two here do not even understand the entire aim of neo-liberalism, Hayek and the entire Chicago School of Economics. This entire project was to 'liberate' capital in order to exploit the working class, period. The devasting results of these policies are that the working classes in developed nations are being pitted against the even poorer working classes across the rest of globe – resulting in a predictable backlash, which is in its essence protectionism against unfair practices on a global scale. It is a reaction against the increasing wealth disparity within nation states themselves, but also the extreme competition globally, which favors higher profits over every other consideration, including social cohesion on all levels. The formerly left-wing parties in the entire West essentially sold out their own constituencies to Finance and Capital, particularly after the collapse of the Soviet Union, after which ALL pretenses where dropped, as far as 'just and equitably societies' were concerned.

A very poor segment for the Real News.

  10. International solidarity among the working class is essential to re-regulating transnational corporate conglomeration and government capture by concentrated wealth. It cannot be based on labor unions because labor has been shattered into splinters in every nation on earth by various means but by exactly the same sectors and classes. The Global Banking cartel under BIS, Wall Street, City of London, et al, and both private and sovereign equity funds, now act as international guidance for most national priorities. These investment and financial services entities control the direction of nearly every government on earth and largely orchestrate the processes of offshoring and tax avoidance through carrot/stick incentive/discipline enforced via global monopoly through assorted captured government regulators and the Bank of International Settlements.

Our oppressors and exploiters are very much internationally organized. There's no way imaginable to fight back without similarly organizing internationally. This is the ultimate statement made by Thomas Piketty in his landmark book and vast historical data set analysis Capital in the 21 Century. Taxation cannot be effected without international agreement and (me talking now) cannot be achieved without international organizing among people instead of between institutions invested in maintaining corruption for their own ends.

  11. The juxtaposition of liberal vs conservative is actually not the issue. The exclusion of the moderate center from the political table is the heart of the matter. The more liberal groups have chosen to champion those who the moderate struggle the most with. Conservatives understand this and have made a stand that actually speaks 2 both moderate and conservative ideas. When you say women's rights and women's gains you are really only speaking about white women. The black woman has been excluded from many of the gains that white women have achieved. The white woman was given all of the gains that blacks and other people of color fought for in America. So that the white upper middle class has seen a net gain while blacks, who was supposed to gain from diversity and other liberal policies have actually fallen behind.

The black middle class and the working White poor have felt the brunt of illegal immigration. In California blacks at all levels have been displaced by illegal immigrants. Forcing many of us to side with conservatives or sit out on this issue. Whole neighborhoods that were once black are now Latino. In many places Latinos refuse to hire blacks and work to force out the blacks that were there before them. It appears that when Americans do illegal activity we are punished. When foreigners are illegal they are cosseted. Not fair by any account. The focus should be on changing our immigration quota laws. Not allowing them to break our laws with impunity. The businesses that use them & profit off of them need to be punished too.

This is just one case where moderates have now chosen to align themselves with conservatives. The best thing that liberals politicians could do is become more moderate especially on immigration, abortion rights, public education, globalization, and other talking point that actually hurt the working class. We love social programs like Medicare for all & living wages. We hate that 14 million people have been allowed to enter our country & receive what those of us who have been here for generations have fought for. We want out of all the war draining our tax money away from our benefit. We want to cut aid to corporations & foreign countries because none of this benefits those who pay the taxes. We want schools that work. We want media that speaks to our needs, not regurgitates the political talking points of what upper white class people think because of whatever college classes they took. Come into our reality.
