1. Why are Americans so obsessed with how long Putin has been in office? On the list of longest reigning non monarchs he's 16th. This list includes Angela Merkel of Germany, Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel and Ueli Maurer of Switzerland.

   Russia isn't starting wars all over the ME. Your politicians are selling arms to Saudi Arabia – the country where most of the 9/11 attackers were from!

2. ..oh..the way to insist on playing the headlines according to -western understanding.. -What this means, is that not only has he (P.U.T.I.N) set the possibilities to "elected" again..but to systematically rig, manipulate, and lie his way in to the Presidency all over again..time and again.

   Come on now guys, that's what it means in EVERYDAY language terms..the dud managed to – fiddle the books again , this time in a a grander way than previously..because..(many things)..but, he knows he won't be able to ..hhrmmm.."retire to his summer cottage" if willing another Russian revolution.

   So, nothing new on the Putin front as far as i'm concerned…i can see his map in the piepeline..clear as bell..

Hi Greg.  If the Presidential term-limits cold be increased constitutionally, Mr Putin would have to want to seek re-election and be elected.  The electorate values Mr Putin's leadership for the reasons noted here and because he has regained and maintained Russia's sovereignty.  OPECs Saudi Arabia is suffering the most with oil price and supply, the US and the Russian Federation have hardy economies and energy independence (and both have gas exports).  Russia has weathered sanctions through internal growth and restructuring, and it has forged a strategic alliance with China.  Russia is Ok, and when it's people can elect another great leader, he will retire.
