  1. SMEARING works. it doesn’t matter if the issue/case is false. republicans and other conservative media plants have unjustifiably smeared dems for four decades successfully. B clinton mandate power severely reduced from smearing. smearing lead to fewer dem senators/reps weakening clinton. it was the beginning of smearing hillary for 30 years which lead to her NOT beating trump. like her or not she would have still beaten trump if it weren’t all the smearing. i have non political dem/liberal friends who spout out demonizing statements on hillary when in fact that particular issue was false. we are political junkies who don’t support hillary for valid reasons but to a normal dem citizen she’s a good president. kerry was smeared and we lost the presidency to W. gee, jimmy, you forgot that? obama was smeared and his political weight severely reduced to implement any liberal agenda he might wish. max cleland was smeared, lost, and was a vote that would have extremely favored dems agenda. you all have a thousands other examples of smearing working. so jimmy NEVER brings up them smearing and how it works but solely focuses on trump/russia investigation is fraudulent. i say great and let's do all we can to smear trump and the republicans! Paul Jay is absolutely WRONG. if the trump/russia story did not exist the corporate media WOULD NOT be talking about global warming POTUS climate denier. the corporate media would not be talking about deregulating wall street… this is totally false position/assumption!

  2. It's "crystal clear" that Russia "attempted to interfere in the election"? How, Marc? With a dozen troll farms peddling Bernie-Sanders-as-Gay-Superman memes in a pathetic phishing attempt to make a few rubles? We OVERTHROW democratically elected governments, on a regular basis.. and have no actual democracy ourselves. We backed that drunken clown Yeltsin and helped wreck the Russian economy, paving the way for Putin. Compare that with what has been "proven" against "Russia," and which on its face is utterly laughable. Or would be, if we weren't veering into such dangerous waters over it. Paul Jay is entirely correct.

  3. What's the FBI look like and how does it perform post turnover at the top? DOJ still looks like chickenshit club. The Mueller project has to either fizzle out or does it go on forever as an FBI permanent special extraconstitutional bud project? How do you 'take down Trump' take down the real criminal.

  4. What the fuck is wrong with host? Anti-Russian hatred is transparent here. Paul Jay made some great points as always.

  5. Is Marc Steiner replacing Aaron Mate, who went to The Nation? Seems as if Paul spent quite a bit of time correcting or re-directing Marc. How about substituting Marc with Ron Placone? We'd have to get out our pens & notebooks for THAT discussion.

  6. Interesting to see how gullible Marc appears to be about Russia and his failure to parse the differences between Russian troll farms and the Russian government and the fact that everything Trump Is accused of has been done by Clinton also, e.g., Trump sought dirt on Clinton from Russians and Clinton sought dirt on Trump from Brits.

  7. I loved when Paul Jay mentioned that no matter how horrible other countries have been when it comes to war crimes, The united states still takes the cake. And that they are hypocritical. And also how he mentioned that a war could come out of this russia bs. Unlike Cenk uygur on Tyt.

  8. The correct term from Eisenhower naming the private and political elites to warn Americans and the world of a looming threat; Military Industrial Congressional Complex… Eisenhower had omitted 'Congressional' from his speech as he wanted the American people to least trust their government.JFK in his speech on the same note; about Secrecy, Secret Oaths, and Secret Societies… his assassination was US made conspiracy and no viable evidence to connect the former Soviet Union as Oswald was the perfect patsy. The closest that the world witnessed to these elites was during the Contra/Iran Hearings as the late Sen. Daniel Inouye in his long speech to expose that there is a 'Shadow Government' within our government having their own agenda their own foreign policy, their own military, their own intelligence, their own fund raising mechanism, and operating freely outside the law itself without any accountability to their actions!

  9. Paul misses the point that the DNC financed the Steele dossier, the Steele dossier claim the information comes from Russian insiders in Kremlin.

If the Steele dossier is true or not DNC say it is true, hence DNC paid Russians government officials to get dirt on Trump, i.e colluded.

The difference between Trump JR's collusion attempt and the DNC collusion is that DNC claim they succeeded.
Would say if anybody is guilty here it is the DNC.

Interestingly enough DNC called their act "normal opposition research but Trump JR's act illegal collusion.

  10. Paul's summary is spot on there. The U.S.(neocon) establishment know their goal of global hegemony is failing, so it's no great stretch to see them instructing the CIA, NSA etc to cook up some nonsense about Russian hacking, and Russian collusion with a president who was talking about the U.S. becoming friends with Russia, getting out of Syria, and ending the regime change wars (usually fought on behalf of Israel and the Saudis).

These are policies that they would see as detrimental to their goals, and they'd do all they can to stop Trump implementing them (assuming he ever really wanted to), including spreading misinformation.

And when I say neocon establishment, I include Clinton.

  11. Maybe in N Korean, who knows. But I have traveled extensively and lived abroad half my life and I can assure you that 'patriotism' exists nowhere, in my experience, like here, where it is a secular religion.

  12. Wasn't the Steele dossier obtained by the DNC from Russian sources with the aim of dredging up dirt about Trump? Am I missing something?

  13. Once Trump stepped in the manure as you say he started putting unwarranted sanctions on Russia to try and deflect attention away from his goings on with Putin. Rather than sit down with advisors and figure a way out of the mess He decided to attack another country that had no part in his decision making. These are the actions of a very mentally unstable person. Only a degenerate will sacrifice their own countries financial stability and war just to save face. Russian interference is bullshit. Trump did not win the popular vote. He won because of the electoral college. Are We suppose to believe that the American people are so stupid that they think the Electoral college can be manipulated by Facebook Memes.

  14. It is state media theater as contrived as their War on Terror, and all of the ongoing huge lies about Venezuela, Yemen, Ukraine, North Korea, Syria, Iran, Israel war crimes… ad infinitum. Russia is a capitalist country. Putin is running Russia much better than the the U.S. and NATO has him illegally surrounded.
The U.S. destroys any chance for world peace. It is not profitable.

  15. Nation's lobbying for their own interest does not amount to election interference.
When most people hear the phrase "election interference" they think of something that changes the actual vote count and therefore the results of an election. (ie: tossing votes out, tampering with ballots, miscounting, stripping people of their voting rights, hacking electronic voting machines, voter intimidation, fakes ballots, & other forms of electoral fraud)

They don't think of Facebook & Twitter ads.

  16. Evidence of the Trump Tower meeting is public knowledge now. Follow this logic: Benedict Arnold met with Major Andre at west point. Andre was caught wearing civilian clothes and with a copy of the watch points, changing of guard times and passwords on a page in his boot. Because he was stopped the British forces did not get the data and so West Point was not captured. :: The Trump team MET with Russian agents in Trump Tower (on more than one occasion) and we do not know (publicly) the contents of the interactions. Whether these actions actually changed the election outcome (which I argue they did in some small key districts and likely with the electoral college) or not is immaterial. Benedict Arnold was a traitor, Andre was hung as a spy. Trump is a traitor and Velenytskyia is a spy.

If your aim is to push out the Trump gang, then a full court press must happen, wherever there's a crack in their defenses you must attack. It's really that simple. Partisan politics are on the loose right now and I do not see them being contained until the aims are met or their power is exhausted.

  17. This is the first time I watched the real news. From my experience as a professor and working in the government, it is indeed the real news. But it seems to overlook the fact that the general public is unable or unwilling to confront the uncomfortable evidence. So, the media and the political activists are focusing on what is intellectually and emotionally accessible to the general public. The reason is best summarized by T.S. Elliot. "Humankind cannot bear very much reality."

  18. The Military Industrial Complex is the elephant in the room that know one talks about. If all the graft and corruption was cleaned up in the MIC there would be no deficit and crumbling infrastructure and the declining USA.

  19. Paul Jay more than effectively destroys the emotionally and faith based support for the Russia Hacking fallacy. It is a real shame that this view cannot be the standard population perspective on such a real crucial area of Human existence. Given the recent report for Politico – 'Don't expect much from the Mueller investigation' is exactly where we've been since the DNC-CIA generated LIE first hit our screens. As he says himself [Jimmy Dore] it is a shame that a Nightclub Comedian is more accurate in reporting news than the so-called "professionals".

  20. Russiagate is laughable….
What about Israel's influence?! Seems conspicuously missing from the conversation.
Marc is woefully off point. This is where Aaron Mate shines.
What about Hillary/DNC hiring a foreign agent to get dirt on Trump from Russians?!
starting to see why Aaron left.
Marc, how did the Russians interfere? Evidence seems to hiding along with GW Bush's WMD's.

  21. Trump didn't win in 2016; Jill S. tried to prove this but the Mid-terms did prove it. Everybody in Michigan and Wisconsin were paying attention and look what happened; Michigan actually legalized Weed. Look at the voter suppression in N. Carolina, Florida, Georgia and Texas; the Democrats aren't making to much of a fuss because Capitalism is collapsing and the Master Class is circling the wagons. Trump is the perfect fall guy because he doesn't understand rule one of the Master Class "do what you do best and delegate the rest" which is what young people call staying in your lane.

Individual 1 should have resigned months ago but now individual 1 has at least 5 years of State unpardonable prison time waiting for him from the SNY case whenever he leaves office. The economy is collapsing as we speak; Italy has refused the EU's austerity program, Deutsche, Barclay's and Goldman are insolvent and France, South/Central America and the UK are ready to fall. If France repels their Tax cut program it's new game with new rules for Capitalism. Everybody thinks this will be like 2008 with equities and Joe average citizen getting the bailout. China kick started the 2008 recovery by taking on a massive amount of credit/ debt, but that Dog don't hunt no more. The "Not ready for Prime Time" idiots just took one of China's elites and China just outlawed the sale of I-Phone 6 through 10; lets see how the Markets react. If I own a Trans-National Corporation who would I want to sell to 330 million people that are in massive amounts of debt or 1.5 billion of a newly created debt free middle-class.

The Climate makes the rules now and all the slaves out there; you have a new master called Climate Chaos. The old master Money/Capitalism is giving birth to a new synthesis/thesis.
