  1. Reparations aren't some magical policy that is going to fix the black community if the black community has no intentions of fixing themselves. This notion about wealth disparities, why doesn't Bernie ever bring up the fact that the Asian population which is doing much better than the white population?
I hope Bernie loses again, this man is a complete clown, and I have no idea why any white American would vote for a party which doesn't represent them.

  2. We all see how he took it personal on the reputation question…. “What do they mean”…. No black vote for you buddy… He looked like he wanted to attack the host… Damn, keep your hands to yourself….

  3. Give ADOS Land and Property that will close the wealth gap. Stop playing with us honor the 40 acres they know what will close the wealth Gap FOH.Its not complicated.

  4. ZERO. Zero faith in Bernie. Trump is a boil on the bum of humanity. But bernie defending Hillary etc… disgusting. And not bringing a gun to a knifefight. He takes a spoon. Bernie will get played again. He knows it. And his players will use it. Bernie will never become president. In a third party yes. But not by remaining a "buddy" with the ones who fucked him.

  5. Bernie was standing with protesters for racial justice before these critics were born, and Hillary was still a Goldwater girl. How about some reparations from CNN for rigging the debates in 16, and skewing the coverage pumping up Trump.

  6. my biggest disappointment – fallen leftist sociologes – which teached us open society and structural foce – structural violence…. Adornos outsider stranger went turbo..

when the destruction of jugoslawia went on and the warpropaganda really really went wicket – they were the first, which turned into warmongers… end the westfalian peace premisses… and showed their true face – stupid neocons – and zionists –

they crossed for me and many others every red line… Its all fiction… and lala kukuland…stupid useful idiots – trying to make in social engeneering… now they wrote their new moral… political correctness – fits on a piece of paper – for the new stupid and brutal puppets, they want – eventual leading their new archipele gulags…

assholes. we know you through and through. insane crap.

  7. Thank you Ms. Luqman. Great work on behalf of African Americans who are defendants of slaves. We definitely deserve raparations and Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren are our best possibilities of getting these out of a President.

  8. Bernie is sincere about addressing racial and class disparities. I love you Bernie. African Americans and all other middle and poor people should vote for themselves by voting for Bernie.

  9. All those candidates that are talking about reparations are only saying reparations because they want the black votes. I don’t think they have any plans to follow through with it.

  10. Eugene said that Black people would be ok with a reparations should play itself out is with strategies for everyone. No we won't. That's not the approach that was taken when reparations we're given to the Jews, Japanese, or Vietnamese.

  11. It's not a trick to address American Decadent of Slaves we are demanding reparations and that involves real things that will end generational poverty racial violence and injustice. #ADOS #TANGIBLES

  12. the real news on the lower left of the screen obscures the names of the questioners. vert annoying for those of us who want to know who these people are. NOT necessary to keep site name onscreen throughout. i will view your site agin when you correct this.

  13. Why this kind of questions come up only to the progressive candidates?
I'd love to ask the same questions(racism, reparation etc.) to the republican politicians, specially trump.

As if we don't have any other more important issues at the moment.
How about corruption, inequality, healthcare, growing debt, public and private, climate change?

Is this really the right time to bring up the reparation issue and try to make it sounds like it's the deciding factor for the presidential election?

In other words, they are doing great favor to the conservative candidates, they'll never, ever ask the same questions to them.

  14. I'd be incredibly wary of any centrist saying they support reparations without defining what they mean as well as having an actual plan to address the need for structural change . My concern is now that Bernie has momentum these sorts of disingenuous smears by the media to paint him as not being aware of racial inequality will hurt him. I'm also worried about a political movement that says you won't get my vote unless you support this one specific policy. Bernie is by no means perfect. I think he fails in a lot of ways when it comes to foreign policy. But he is the only candidate with the absolute best chance to bring about change that will not only improve the lives of millions of Americans in tangible way as well as save lives with medicare for all. Are progressives seriously going to ignore all of that unless they can get a promise of reparations?? And then what? Does that check do so much for your financial situation that you can go without livable wages, health care, education ect…I feel uncomfortable telling people how to vote or implying people are not capable of voting in their best interests but when it comes to this I do think the bigger picture is being missed. I also think that if the Democratic nominee is a corporate democrat we will get another four years of Trump and even if we don't no way a centrist is going to do anything for the black community. Remember Obama. I guess I'm saying is things like this take time for them to become part of the national conversation. Look at how long it took for medicare for all to be part of American conscience. It doesn't happen overnight. I think the best chance people who support reparations have is to put Bernie in office especially given his 40 year history. The conversation will happen. I can't see Bernie turning his back on the black community.

  15. From the Haldeman diaries: "Got into a deep discussion of welfare [w/Pres Nixon] – trying to think out the Family Security decision [proposed 70s welfare reform]….President emphasized that you have to face the fact that the whole problem is really the blacks. The key is to devise a system that recognizes this while not appearing to [drug war, prisons, war, etc.]. Problem with overall welfare plan is that it forces poor whites into same position as blacks. Feels we have to get rid of the veil of hypocrisy and guilt and face reality" 4/28/1969. Sure it's racist, but it perfectly nails antiblack white reaction for what it is. Bernie can't say it out loud, but one of the measures of success of a future (fingers crossed) social democracy in the US is: are poor white people and poor black people on the same level or no? Does Bernie actually get this? I have no idea, but he can't say it out loud if he does.

  16. Some people are so misleading . H.R. 40 is a Commission to Study Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act. it was first introduced way back in 2007 by John Conyers Jr.. It keeps getting reintroduced every 2-3yrs.and is never enacted by the end of a Congress and cleared from the books. Those who try to shame others for the truth and talk the loudest and get more media coverage are usually the biggest liars . If it was going to be passed it would've passed years ago, it's comes up now and then solely for the black vote and people still fall for it because you have black sellouts on the front lines lying to other blacks.

  17. Reparations for slavery is simple and easy to implement. Here it is:

    1) Black Americans no longer have to pay taxes

    2) Black Americans no longer have to pay for school

    Simple and easy.

  18. Bernie in his heart doesn't believe in repairing that damage. He knows that freeing slaves was divisive and civil rights were divisive. So why is he Conservative with reparations??? He's no revolutionary. He's not brave at all.

  19. Reparations can/should begin by passing laws that require ALL COURTHOUSES (state+federal) to have a HALL OF SHAME where portraits of past judges who enforced Jim Crow laws are placed on display.

  20. There are two types of people in this world, the vast majority who desire more and take, while a very few desire less and give. End result being, the more educated upper-half hoarding all the land, wealth, political power and healthcare. And so, as global warming slowly enlightens that we all deserve to be dead, will we wake up and smell the flowers?

  21. COMPETITION BASED CAPITALISM
Government used to enslave by poverty the 50% working poor.
    EQUALITY BASED SOCIALISM
Government used to enslave the educated middle-class and ruling-class.

    COMPETITION BASED CAPITALISM
Government used to enslave by poverty the 50% working poor, so that the educated middle-class and ruling-class can hoard all the land, wealth political power and healthcare.  So that those more intelligent can self-actualize and be all they can be.

    EQUALITY BASED SOCIALISM
Government used to enslave the educated middle-class and ruling-class, by destroying their desire and ability to control, create or be goal orientated.  So that everyone can have equal wealth and equal control.

  22. Denying reparations to American Descendants of Slavery is the USA's way of saying ADOS are still 3/4 human (chattel) and still not full citizens of the U.S., and as far as the current U.S. population and decision makers are concerned, slavery was actually not an injustice or an immoral system to be atoned for and ADOS are not worthy of being repaired.
That is, the U.S. has a plan of genocide for ADOS and nothing more.

  23. Please name one white candidate that has done more to advance social equality for blacks and all minorities for the past 25 to 30 years. Not just at the Federal level, but at all levels
