Our panelists Paul Jay, Dharna Noor, and Dana Vickers Shelley, Executive Director of the Maryland ACLU, and host Marc Steiner discuss the significance of the nomination, why the Democrats didn’t pursue a criminal investigation for perjury, the consequences for women’s rights and whether a fight should be waged to impeach Kavenaugh once he is confirmed.

  1. Democrats chose to metoo this particular cretin rather than attacking him on his anticonstitutional rulings because they support those right wing ideas.

  2. This isn't objective. You have to have a credible witness in Mrs. Ford. Sorry. Do your research. You can't just dismiss the prosecutor's report. Just shows we have to watch for partisanship on this channel as well.

  3. will manchin get even one vote from women in west virginia ???/-does he even deserve one??? ——

if they wanted a republican –they would have voted for one —–they may just stay home this time —

  4. trump uses publicly funded AIR FORCE ONE to go to KANSAS TO CAMPAIGN for his republican candidates —-is this legal —–does the other side enjoy thee same opportunity ??

  5. Kavanaugh's a brazen criminal predator, just like his sponsor, and the Republicans who allowed both to take office, while Democrats are fleeing the party due to its own brand of corruption. These seeds always grow pitchforks followed by blood, then a left shift, then a tighter noose. Its not rocket science.

  6. I can testify if I post anything critical of Trump or Kavanaugh here its blocked. Its 3am in D.C. which means The Real News probably isn't blocking it. Folks you have a brand new problem.

  7. The good news is the nightmare's over. Awesome. The bad news is the site 911247365 (c0m) explains all life including humans go away as an ice free arctic emerges 2019 or 2020, thus making even the horrific series of Kavanaugh's life of crime a moot point.

  8. The Criminal investigation would be handled by the appropriate jurisdictions in Maryland or DC. ALL that needs to be done is filing of complaints in the relevant jurisdictions.

  9. 18:28 This is the truth that needs to be spoken until everyone has heard it. The intersection of class and wealth is where all political power lies. It's the adversary; not parties or the deep state or trump. This is the only explanation for why our so-called representatives aren't matching the fervor and selflessness of the average citizen in the halls of Congress or restaurants and city streets; face to face and in real time; not the next day or after the battle is lost. Give me more mob rule.

  10. The people on this panel can't have an ounce of sense between them. This was just a huge dog and pony show. While all these political animals are screaming about a dubious sexual assault where there is no evidence, where the so called victim knew nothing about the assault, the time, the place, how she got there or got home etc. The real reason he should not sit on the Supreme Court is not mentioned and this is done purposely to distract people from the real issue. This man not only supported The Patriot Act, he helped author it. He supported people being taken, imprisoned and held without due process and for as long as the state deems necessary. Judges sitting on The Supreme Court are supposed to uphold the constitution but this man has shown that he cares nothing for the document which founded America. This panel not once talked about the real issue, so this cannot be a real news network.

  11. Paul Jay explains how the Dems failed to put any effort in really ‘resisting’ Kavanaugh and goes into details on how and why. When passed to the other two panelists their response is ‘well, I hope those who stayed home or voted opposite the Dems learned how important the Supreme Court is.’ 😳

Perhaps maybe it is the Dems in congress that need this lesson since clearly they don’t care enough about the issues that would affect us as long as those that affect the 1% are met.

  12. The SCOTUS is illegitimate because the Senate puts rapists on it's bench. The Congress is illegitimate because the elections are rigged via gerrymandering and voter suppression. The Executive is illegitimate because he is chosen by the electoral college not the people. The whole Federal Government is illegitimate.

  13. I just love that the self proclaimed "leaders of the free world" are about to appoint a spoiled, sexual assaulting brat, from a rich family, who likes alcohol enema's, to their highest judicial court. It's fucking hilarious. Unfortunately it's also scary as hell! You already elected a narcissistic, sociopathic dumbell to your highest political office and now you are going to do the same in the judiciary? The world looks on with incredulity and disgust!

  14. The ACLU took a position on Kavanaugh because they are now a political organization. It's not the same ACLU everyone respected 20 years ago, committed to defending the constitutional rights. They really need to change their name.

  15. mob rule… the "mob" is made up of people who are more and more outraged by the abominable behaviour of many "elites", if we look at the facts, these people "of the mob" are simply being reasonable… you should quit your job today "senator"… you are not doing the work… on the contrary…
and if you are trying to imply mindlessness… I can tell you: every single person in that "mob" is more mindful than you are…

  16. Go-fund-me and one from a slew of worthy candidates will oust Susan Collins from her seat in Maine in 2020. Sayonara Sue! Shame on you when Kavanaugh goes after civil rights and Roe v. Wade and the poor women of Maine and elsewhere suffer.

  17. Temperament…? Ridiculous. Watching Paul do verbal gymnastics and lie to himself about stat of limitations. Fundamental dishonest— this is why Eric Blair wrote 1984 against the Left.

  18. Completely ridiculous premise! Complete Orwellian drivel… accusers = survivor…?
This is the EXACT SAME PATHOLOGY white racist use. These people not only killed the mocking bird they baked it in a pie and served with a Starbucks tea.

  19. The bullshit is too deep to sift through. You mention valid issues and tear them down without presumption of innocence yourselves. It was not a job interview. An investigation could have happened, that's on Ford and Feinstein. However, no evidence, no time, no location, no corroboration, no credible leads, the police or FBI would have dropped the case immediately. Please sincerely SICERELY address the concerns of those who have NO Reason to believe without evidence.

I appreciate the seemingly thorough calm discussion. But whether ten minutes or one hour, you have to actually discuss relevant issues and concerns.

  20. It is important to vote, but unlike a REAL democracy we have little to vote for. A political struggle is a class struggle yet we have no one to represent the working class. We have the majority and are left with two corporate/elitist parties with no mechanics to implement policy that benefits the majority.

  21. The presumption of innocence only applies in criminal cases. It has no application at all in deciding whether K should be on the Supreme Court.

  22. What an “impartial” panel isn’t it? Not. The left has officially crossed into insanity. They want to destroy an innocent man on no evidence whatsoever. But he’s confirmed, savages. Go back into your caves to lick your wounds.

  23. I need some brett beer to deal with all this crap. revolt. daffy duck Collins. lisa got cover for a no as natives would get her back. manchin and flake pressure them. pitiful collins

  24. So it’s come down to throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Some level of presumption of innocence is the basis of law. This is why people are leaving the dem party in droves.
So much was wrong with the whole ford fiasco.
You people think it’s ok to not give kavanaugh the “benefit of the doubt” because of wrongly accused/shot black men. That is the most circular type of logic. So conversely, because kavanaugh was wrongly villified it’s ok for black men to be. Nevermind feinstein and others manipulations.

  25. It’s also the argument of all of us non partisans, Jay. (Accusations and witnesses that were debunked one after the other.) What a disappointment when the aclu director stated their reason to urge a no vote is the ford circus, yea that was a circus. The aclu should have focused on his record.

  26. I already watched traitor Collins the first time around and vomited my guts out. Please don't replay it. She's got a sparse little state of uneducated hicks and she's deciding to sail this whole country down the river? This is the event that precipitated the Second Civil War in this country. It cannot stand! It will not stand! Three tiny hick states – Maine, WVa and ALASkA destroying our Republic? uh uh!! Regime Change NOW!!

  27. Why do these videos always start mid-sentence? You need a little leader at the beginning. Your first remarks were cut off.

  28. There are not enough progressives in the Democratic party in any real positions of power. As for voting more in, the Establishment Corporate Democrats are actively fighting against them just as much as they fight Republicans. They are withholding funds, not allowing media coverage, etc, in other words they are treating them the same as they did Sanders. A few are getting past the obstacles, but some of those are like Gilum in Florida, who after his win, changed the part of his platform concerning healthcare to read Affordable instead of Universal Healthcare. Then there is Ocasio-Cortez who endorsed Cuomo who supposedly is the antithesis of what she stands for and throughout her campaign she told everyone she was working class, when in fact after the age of 5, she actually grew up in a very upper middle class gated community, her father was an architect. During college she interned for Ted Kennedy and shortly after college she established her own publishing firm. What working class person has the network available to them to do these things? Statistics show almost all entrepreneurs are from the upper classes. My point is the Democrats have a history of cheating on a lot of levels, the idea of using plants would not be below them.
